Stark had designed a new Quinjet with three being constructed for beta testing when the Avengers had broken up. (New Avengers v1 #4)
With the formation of the New Avengers, Stark had the team use his newly designed Quinjet models in their assignment to capture Karl Lykos who had escaped the Raft for the Savage Land. Upon arriving, they managed to evade several attacks and land after which the jet was destroyed leaving the New Avengers stranded in the Antarctic region. (New Avengers v1 #4)
After officially quitting the Avengers, Carol took one of the Quinjets without permission and joined up with the fugitive New Avengers that were on the run from Norman Osborn. She kept it at the hanger situated in Captain America's old headquarters that was hidden. (New Avengers v1 #52) The New Avengers used the jet to get to New Orleans to stop the Hood from claiming the Eye of Agamotto with the plane being shot down by Madame Masque's rocket launcher. In other media
Television
- In The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes, the Quinjet made a number of appearances in the animated series. The Quinjet was an advanced, versatile aircraft developed by the global intelligence agency S.H.I.E.L.D., initially provided to the fledgling Avengers team for rapid transportation and combat support. It possessed vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) capabilities, advanced stealth technology, and was equipped with a variety of weaponry, including onboard computer systems that could be piloted by A.I. when a human pilot was unavailable. Its in-universe actions began almost immediately as the Avengers assembled; it was used extensively in the very first episodes after the breakout from the Vault, transporting Captain America, Iron Man, and other team members across the globe to respond to multiple simultaneous threats. The Quinjet became the team's reliable workhorse, facilitating travel to hostile locations like Latveria to confront Doctor Doom and even the Savage Land. The aircraft frequently saw combat, using its energy weapons to provide covering fire or engaging enemy aircraft. One particularly significant action occurred when the Avengers were captured; the empty Quinjet was remotely controlled by the A.I. F.R.I.D.A.Y. to crash into the prison and create a diversion, allowing the heroes to escape their captors. The vehicle was a persistent and vital asset throughout the series, integral to the Avengers' ability to operate as a global and cosmic rapid response unit against a vast array of villains. In "Operation: Galactic Storm", Mahr Vehl modified the Quinjets to be able to travel to the sun in order for the Avengers to battle the Kree.
- In Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Quinjets appeared in the setting of the live-action television series set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Films
- In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the Quinjet made a number of appearances in the shared continuity setting:
- In The Avengers, Quinjet made its first appearance in the setting of the live-action film. The Quinjet was established as a high-tech, multi-purpose aircraft created by S.H.I.E.L.D., serving as a primary means of transport and logistics for the agency's strike teams and later the newly formed Avengers initiative. The vehicle possessed impressive capabilities, including vertical take-off and landing (VTOL), atmospheric flight, and space-flight, along with a rear cargo ramp for deployment. Its history in the film began as a mode of deployment for Agent Romanoff to retrieve Bruce Banner in India. It then became the central mode of transport for bringing the assembled heroes to the Helicarrier, S.H.I.E.L.D.'s flying headquarters. A pivotal action involving the jet occurred when Loki was captured; while en route to the Helicarrier aboard a Quinjet piloted by Agent Barton (under Loki's control) and Romanoff, Thor attempted to "kidnap" his brother. During the ensuing mid-air confrontation and fight, the jet was damaged and Loki was eventually taken from the aircraft. Later, as the Chitauri invasion of New York City commenced, the Quinjet was armed and used as a combat vehicle. Captain America piloted one through the urban canyon while Hawkeye used its weapons systems to provide covering fire against the alien invaders and their Leviathans, demonstrating its efficacy as an urban combat aircraft and crucial support vehicle in the climactic Battle of New York.
- In Captain America: The Winter Solier, Quinjets appeared in the setting of the live-action film.
Video games
- In Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order, the Quinjets appeared in the setting of the Wii video game. The Winter Soldier used one to escape A.I.M. after he stole the Soul Stone from them but his jet was shot down in Wakanda though he managed to escape.
