Raman, USS

The U.S.S. Raman was a United Federation of Planets starship, Oberth-class, NCC-59983. A science vessel, its crew was lost in 2370 when lifeforms from the atmosphere of Marijne VII, trapped within the ship, accidentally killed them during an attempt at communication. Lt. Cmdr. Geordi La Forge of the U.S.S. Enterprise-D, using a prototype interface unit, explored the Raman to discover the crew's fate, and eventually helped the Marijne VII entities return home.
