Biography
Gus
In this time, he was given responsibility for pursuing a bill from the McCarthy Medical Center. This saw him first contacting May Parker and later chasing the remaining money from her nephew Peter Parker. Parker though would go missing for a time though Gus would continue chasing the matter. Six months later, he would come to hear that Peter Parker was back in town. This led to him waiting for Parker in Alphabet City outside his residence. Confronting Peter, he brought up the hefty medical bill from the McCarthy Medical Center and how Parker was going to pay it off. Parker though told Gus that there was no more money to pay and told the debt collector to stop pursuing the bill. However, Gus simply said that he would be seeing Parker again. (Amazing Spider-Man v6 #1) Gus continued waiting outside the building where Parker resided in his apartment in order to collect the remaining money. At this time, Paul Rabin had arrived wanting to meet Parker to settle another matter. Gus attempted to claim that the two shared a common dislike of Parker where he explained that it stemmed from an unpaid medical bill. After hearing about this, Rabin decided to pay some of the bill in exchange for Gus to leave Parker alone for a few weeks. The debt collector accepted though was perplexed why Rabin would help someone like that with Paul stating that he hated to see someone be kicked when they were down. (Amazing Spider-Man v6 #3) After sometime, Gus would return waiting by Parker's building to continue chasing the debt. One day, he encountered a white-haired woman who was also looking for Parker. Gus would ask for her number stating that he would let her know when he saw Parker but she disappeared shortly afterwards. (Amazing Spider-Man v6 #5) In the winter, Gus came upon 'Peter Parker' and accused him of being a fake. It was then that 'Peter Parker' attacked Gus and said that his name was actually Ben Reilly. He would throw Gus into the ground and savagely beat the man to an bloodied unconscious state. Gus was then abducted and taken to Limbo where Chasm brought the man before the Goblin Queen Madelyne Pryor. Taken before the Tree of Exquisite Liberation, Gus was forced to eat one of its fruit where he was told he would go free. Gus believed that eating the fruit would mean that he would be allowed to leave and thus complied with the Goblin Queen. Reluctantly, he bit into the fruit and found his soul removed from his body where Pryor came to taste it as she planned her attack on New York City. (Amazing Spider-Man v6 #14)
The soul of Gus remained buried within the Garden of Jagged Souls until later on when the demon Rek-Rap left to have adventures in the world of the living. This led to the Goblin Queen deciding to make use of Gus and dug him from the soul within the garden. By this point, his body had been changed as he became the Repossessor who was tasked with bringing errant demons of Limbo back home. In this case, Madelyne Pryor had charged the Repossessor with the task of bringing Limbo's various 'children' like Rek-Rap and the Insidious Six back to the Otherplace. (Amazing Spider-Man v6 #36)
