Biography
Road Kamelot (Japanese: ロード・キャメロット, Hepburn: Rōdo Kyamerotto) was seemingly a a young human girl but was actually of the clan of Noah and an ally of the Millennium Earl.
When Nea betrayed the Noah clan and began to kill the other Noah in an attempt to become the next Millennium Earl, Road was the only one besides the current Millennium Earl to survive. She was present by Mana's side when Nea attempted to kill him. As the Noah began to be reborn into the current generation, one of the newly-awoken Noah, Sheril Kamelot adopted her as his daughter. Through this adoption, she also became the niece of another Noah, Tyki Mikk. As part of the attempt to maintain a normal facade, Road began to attend a local school, despite being the oldest of the Noah. Around 8 years ago, Road approached the Garvey Circus in order to check in on Mana Walker, who was traveling with the troupe. There, she came across Cross Marian, who was watching the show from a balcony. Road approached him, and Cross asked her if she intended to take back Mana. Road replied that in his state it would be pointless to do so; he must first gain back his memories and become the Millennium Earl. In response, the general accused the Noah Family of using the Earl, and brings up their hatred for the pillar. The mere mention of it triggered the Noah memory within Road, causing her to fall to her knees. According to Cross, the pillar does not exist in 'this world', but Road tearfully stated that the pillar had caused the disappearance of everything, and that he had no idea of the despair one feels when the world ended.
She appeared before the council of the Noah when the Millennium Earl planned his actions for the elimination of mankind. Road was given the task by the Earl to find a piece of Innocence that was causing time to rewind endlessly on itself. On the mission, she took the Earl's sapient umbrella golem Lero with her whilst three stage 2 Akuma had already been deployed at the settlement. Unknown to her, two exorcists from the Black Order namely Allen Walker and Lenalee Lee had been dispatched too investigate the town. When Road arrived, she witnessed the two exorcists battle the three Akuma but before the fight could each a conclusion she called back the Akuma. This was because she felt the continued fight was pointless as their mission was acquiring the Innocence first.
Road later confronted the exorcists and their friend Miranda Lotto. She quickly incapacitates the trio and drags them into her pocket dimension. Road taunts Allen, claiming that she, as a member of the Noah Family, is the true apostle of God. Allen becomes horrified at the prospect that humans are siding with the Earl and she embraces him to prove that she is a human. Allen's Innocence instinctively reaches out to attack her. When Allen holds his Innocence back, she takes Allen's Innocence and stabs herself with it. Despite the fact that her face is utterly destroyed, Road remains unfazed as she heals what was a fatal wound in seconds. She explains that although she is human, she is different from other 'low-lives'. To demonstrate this further, she summons a candle and stabs Allen in his cursed eye. She proceeds to attack Miranda, and is not surprised when Allen takes the blow for her. Miranda's Innocence activates and heals both exorcists. Road orders the Akuma to attack but one was destroyed by Allen and Lenalee attacking together. Wanting to see Allen suffer, Road orders the second Akuma to self-destruct, knowing that Allen will see its soul suffer before it disappears. When the Akuma self-destructs, a furious Allen quickly destroys the third and threatens to shoot her with his Cross Paling. Road is unworried, knowing that Allen would never harm a fellow human. Road promises that they will play again soon and returns to the Earl, Allen missing her dimensional door by mere moments.
Later on, Noah's Ark continues to suffer from the effects that Nea placed it under leading to the Noah family deciding to make a copy of it and destroy the older version. As only Road could complete this task, she remained hidden from the various exorcists that entered Edo, Japan, the current location of the Ark, in search of Cross Marian. After her task was mostly complete, she and Tyki decide to play a game with the exorcists. They draw Lenalee Lee, Allen Walker, Lavi, Yu Kanda, Arystar Krory and Chaozii Han into the slowly-crumbling Ark, and Tyki explains to them that they only have three hours before the Ark is destroyed, killing them as well. Their only chance of survival is to reach the highest point of the Ark and exit through Road's door. With less than an hour to spare and the loss of Kanda and Krory, they arrive at the topmost tower. When Allen walks into the dining hall, Road is overjoyed to see him and kisses him, much to the shock of all present. Amidst the affection she showers upon Allen, she takes note of his companion, Lavi, who is a bookman in training. When Allen begins to fight Tyki, Road keeps Lavi from joining, by trapping Lenalee and Chaozii in a dice-shaped force field. Road asked Lavi to play with her and he agrees on the condition that if he wins, she must let his friends go. Road quickly trapped Lavi in a dreamworld she had created where she tortured him with his memories and visions of bloodied friends who question if Lavi truly cares for them, all the while being mocked by 'another' Lavi, who represents Lavi's identity as a Bookman. When Tyki was stabbed with Allen's Sword of Exorcism, Road becomes enraged and decides to punish Lavi for Allen's deed. She forced Allen and the others to stand idly by as she attempts to break Lavi's mind, threatening death if they make even the smallest movement.
Redoubling her efforts in the dreamworld, Lavi is forced to fight illusions of his friends while his other self insists he is not suitable to be a Bookman. His mind is finally shattered as Lavi is run through by illusions of his closest friends. Not content to merely break him, Road draws Lavi's Bookman self to the surface and forces Allen to fight him. As Allen struggles to wake up what he believes to be the 'true' Lavi, Road mocks him and begins to grow impatient, threatening to kill Lenalee and Chaozii if Allen does not kill Lavi. Lavi, however, manages to regain control of his body, his consciousness having survived Road's attack. He manages to guess that Road's true body is in the dreamworld with him and stabs Allen's illusory corpse. In the physical world, Lavi engulfs both himself and Road's body in flames. Road admires Lavi's determination, but remarks that by this method he will never be able to become a Bookman. Lavi replies that he had been driven into a corner and made the best choice that he could and he begins to fade away. As Lavi comes to a realization about his true self, Allen rushes to rescue him from his own fire; as he calls out to Lavi, Lavi is able to escape the dreamworld and regain consciousness. Keeping good on her promise, Road releases Lenalee and Chaozii from their prison. As the exorcists regroup, Road's charred corpse suddenly begins to move, calling Allen's name before disintegrating. Road, however, continues to live and opens a gate for the earl and Tyki. She with Lulu Bell then observes the Earl of Millennium complete the second Ark.
Road reappears as she attends a dinner party being hosted by the Earl. She watches Tyki dance with various women as she sits with her father, Sheril Kamelot. After the party, the Earl and Tyki come to the Kamelot estate to make future plans. Road largely ignores the other Noah, instead playing in the garden, but playfully joins the conversation later. When Tyki offhandedly remarks that he wants to cut his hair, she briefly throws a tantrum, saying that she likes his hair long, and hits him in the stomach. When Tyki grimaces, she becomes concerned that the wounds Allen gave him still hurt, but before the conversation can continue, her mother, Tricia Kamelot, scolds her for her rudeness. Road, along with the other Noah, greet Wisely as he is reborn in London. When he makes note that Tyki's appearance is exactly as that of Nea's, Road asks him to keep the observation to himself, as it is a family matter. Some time later, Road sits on the shoulder of the Earl in her doll form as he attacks the North American Branch. She informs him that Alma Karma was here before they remind each other the incident with the 14th which causes the Earl to cry. She was later seen with the other Noahs in the main room just next to Wisely. She remarked that he did not need to damage his brain. She witnesses the salutation of the fourteenth through Allen's body and then Allen's declaration. Wisely tells her that Allen is rather interesting before she is stolen from him by Kanda. When Yu Kanda initially denies that he is looking upon the comatose body of Alma Karma, she insists it is true, angering him to the point he uselessly attempts to kill her, only stopping with Allen's intervention. Along with Allen, Road is also trapped by Wisely's power within the mind of Alma and Kanda and observes their past. There she recovers her human form. When the sheer emotion of Kanda's memories overwhelms Allen's consciousness, Road intervenes to save him, urging him not to lose himself, and reminding him of who he is. As they observe Kanda discovering the truth, Road explains Allen the true nature of the Second Exorcist Program. Upon escaping from Kanda's memories, Road withdraws from the ensuing battle with Alma and stays on the shoulder of the Earl. and at its conclusion, she returns to the Noah's base with the others. There, she eases the Earl of Millennium to sleep in her dimension. At his bedside, they are visited by Tyki who asks her about his feelings. He notes that he envies her comprehension of the Earl's feeling.

Personality and attributes
In appearance, Road resembled a young teenage human girl with blue spiky hair. Road had the unsettling elegance of a porcelain doll rendered in shadow and malice. Her appearance changed depending on the situation as she could appear completely human or show her Noah side whereupon her skin went brown. In her Noah form, her skin took on a pallid hue reminiscent of moonlight, marbled with faint traces of gray as though imbued with the lingering echo of another age. Her eyes were wide and unnaturally bright, their golden irises ringed in darkness, often gleaming with amusement or disdain, depending on her mood. She bore the characteristic cross-shaped stigmata of the Noah upon her forehead, deep and black like a sealed wound, marking her as the 'Dream' among her kin. Initially, she tended to wear Gothic-Punk Lolita style dresses and on occasion wore a school uniform. However, since the Noah Family started wearing their white uniforms, Road wears a short white dress with purple ribbons wrapped around her arms, as well as ripped, stripy stockings. Her attire was gothic in structure—dark dresses adorned with frills, high collars, and long sleeves, often paired with knee-high boots and an ever-present ribbon in her hair. Despite her childish frame and youthful features, she exuded an eerie poise that betrayed the vast, ancient malice within. When assuming her human form, she resembled a young girl of about thirteen, with fair skin and long, straight black hair that framed her delicate face. Her outward appearance retained its doll-like innocence, masking her predatory intent and making her presence all the more disturbing to those who underestimated her.
Road’s personality was layered with contradiction, at once juvenile and ancient, cruel and affectionate. She displayed a teasing, capricious disposition that bordered on sadism—relishing the confusion, fear, and suffering of her enemies with the delight of a child tormenting a trapped insect. Her tone often carried a singsong quality, and she treated even deadly encounters like games, playing the role of host with an unsettling smile. Yet this playful demeanor masked a fierce loyalty to the Noah clan and a deep, unwavering reverence for the Millennium Earl, whom she referred to fondly and obeyed without question. She was fiercely possessive of her family, often exhibiting jealousy when attention strayed from her or when others disrespected her kin. This duality made her unpredictable—she could cradle a wounded ally with genuine tenderness only to turn and inflict mental torment upon a foe the next instant, laughing as if at a private joke. Her love of violence never descended into vulgarity; rather, it was artful, deliberate, and theatrical.
Road had a playful nature where she wanted to alleviate her boredom. She was one of the few beings that had a casual relationship with the Millennium Earl and frequently asked him to play games with her without fear of repercussion.
Beneath her layers of loyalty and mischief lay a terrifying intelligence and emotional depth. Road understood the nature of dreams, perception, and human fragility in ways that made her manipulations especially potent. She had a peculiar fascination with Exorcists, particularly Allen Walker, with whom she developed a bizarre attachment—kissing him unexpectedly, protecting him at times, and then hurting him the next, as though unsure whether to nurture or destroy what intrigued her. Her interactions with others were laced with complex motives, and her cruelty often stemmed less from hatred and more from a detached, observational mindset, as if probing the limits of human morality and emotion. She embodied the Noah concept of “Dream” not only through her command over dream-like dimensions, but in the way she defied logic and expectation—slipping between horror and whimsy, innocence and malevolence, embodying the surreal terror of a nightmare one never fully wakes from.
Despite this, she has also shown signs of sadism and seems to enjoy the suffering of others. She has tortured multiple people, including stabbing Allen's left eye with her candles, killing an Akuma subordinate just to anger him, and nailing Miranda Lotto's hands to a clock. Road also detests normal humans, which she considers to be below herself.
Even more dangerous was when Road's affection turns into possessiveness, eliciting a sadistic response when someone harms those that she cares for. This is best illustrated by her rage after Allen attempted to exorcise the Noah within Tyki Mikk; despite her affection for Allen, she chose to punish him first by attempting to break his friend's mind, and then by urging Allen to kill him.
She was shown to hold little regard towards human life and even to the Akuma as shown when she ordered one of her minions to kill themselves just to demonstrate that the soul inside was lost forever in the process.
Powers and abilities
Being a member of the Noah Family meant that Road Kamelot possessed a physical constitution that far surpassed any ordinary human or Exorcist. Her basic physiology was defined by an enhanced durability and resilience, allowing her to shrug off injuries that would have been fatal to others. This heightened state was accompanied by the "Noah Memory" within her genes, which granted her an innate immunity to the destructive effects of Akuma blood and Dark Matter, substances that typically eroded human life on contact. As she leaned further into her heritage, her physical prowess manifested in superhuman speed and strength, enabling her to move and strike with a lethality that defied the natural laws of the world. Beyond simple physical might, her status as a Noah allowed her to perceive and interact with the world on a different spiritual frequency, granting her the ability to sense the presence of Innocence and the internal suffering of Akuma from great distances. She also commanded the ability to manipulate her own presence, often blending into shadows or moving through the environment with a ghostly fluidity that made her nearly impossible to track. These basic Noah traits formed a foundation of absolute power, ensuring that even without her specific dimensional sorcery, she existed as a biological apex predator designed to withstand the harsh conditions of the holy war.
In addition to those core physical enhancements, Road Kamelot's status as a Noah granted her a fundamental command over the world's dark matter, which she used to bolster her defensive and offensive capabilities. She possessed the inherent ability to harden her skin or create invisible barriers that repelled standard physical attacks, ensuring that very little could actually pierce her physical form. This connection to the "Noah Memory" also afforded her a form of biological immortality; her body did not age in the traditional sense, and she could regenerate from wounds that would have left a normal human incapacitated. Even her basic senses were heightened to a supernatural degree, allowing her to see through illusions and track the movements of high-level Akuma with ease. Beyond her physical shell, she shared the common Noah trait of being able to corrode Innocence upon contact, as her very existence acted as a natural antithesis to the holy substance. This meant that any weapon or object fueled by Innocence would gradually decay or lose its effectiveness when forced into proximity with her overwhelming dark energy. Ultimately, being a Noah meant Road inhabited a body that was essentially a living weapon, one that was physically optimized to endure centuries of conflict while remaining completely untainted by the mortal vulnerabilities of the human race.
Road could notice the smell of the cigarette left by Cross in the ark and differentiate it from the smell of Tyki's. Road displayed excellent acrobatic abilities. She is able to easily stand on umbrella Lero while it is flying and not necessarily completely horizontal. She could also dodge Allen Walker's hand by casually performing a back flip and landing back on the flying umbrella.
As a Noah, Road has absolute command over all the Akuma, as well as destroying Innocence by simply touching it. All of her abilities, like other Noah, are based on Dark Matter. She is seen cutting an Akuma's forehead in a point in the Rewinding city while she licks its blood with her fingers. Being a Noah, she is immune to the Akuma's blood virus, which is usually fatal to the human touch. Even though Jasdevi claimed that the blood was sick for the Noah in flavor, Road seems to be indifferent towards the taste. As a Noah, Road had the power to awaken part of the Ark but with its destruction and subsequent reformation with Allen's ability, she lost this power.
Among the Noah, she was referred to as the Noah of Dreams (夢, Yume) and thus could manipulate the mind as well as read the thoughts of others. This was achieved by creating a small pocket dimension where she sucked everything around her into it.
For attacks, she regularly manifested a number of floating candles as her trademark ability with these possessing a pointed edge. They often floated across the field and Road was able to command their movements send the sharp edge to strike her foes for impaling with numerous such candles being used in such attacks.
Road was able to create doorways that manifested from the ground that allowed rapid transportation from one place to another. This was tied to her ability over dreams which meant that she was the only Noah that could travel across great distances without having to use Noah's Ark.
Road also seen using Lero as a weapon. Road often takes Lero against its will. When in her usage, it acts as a witch's broom and an umbrella. Road is the only known person besides the Millennium Earl, the 14th Noah (Pianist), and Allen Walker who has the power to control Noah's Ark. Road is also the only one who was capable of programming Noah's Ark in order to download and make a new Ark.

- In D.Gray-man, Road Kamelot appeared in the anime series where she was voiced by Japanese actress Shimizu Ai and by English actress Cherami Leigh in the dubbed series. In the anime, Road and Tyki were dispatched to assassinate the exorcist General Kevin Yeegar. Road takes the Innocence straight to the Earl, where he destroys it. Tyki removes his internal organs, leaving him to die slowly. When other exorcists recover his body, the only thing he was capable of doing was singing a foreboding song that Road had been singing before dying.
