Biography

Ruth Aldine was a female Mutant born without eyes in the modern age in North Carolina. Her father left a week after her birth after being disgusted at his Mutant child. This left her mother as a lone parent who cared for Ruth and her older brother Luca. He came to despise his sister and secretly beat her for her Mutant nature for years. In time, he began to listen to priests calling Mutants abomination and Luca by the time he was an adult began to act more aggressively. This culminated in him taking a chainsaw and intending to kill Ruth with her other intervening but she was killed in the process. This resulted in Luca going on the run whilst Ruth was cared for by her aunt. The time with her aunt was said to had been the happiest moments in her life where she came to learn to control her power. Around this time, her brother was apprehended and sentence to be executed with Ruth deciding to attend it. Whilst there, he manifested his power of astral projection where he attacked his sister leaving her briefly unconscious. The encounter had resulted in Luca stealing half of Ruth's powers and left her mind incomplete as well as in a broken state. Afterwards, she received a call from the Xavier's Institute for Gifted Youngsters that had people with abilities similar to her and she was sent to live there. (X-Men: Legacy v2 #5)

Unknown to her, she was the great grand-daughter and relation to the precognitive Destiny. (X-Men: Legacy v1 #233)
