Biography
Shingen Yashida (Japanese: 矢志田 信玄, Hepburn: Yashida Shingen?) was a Japanese male who lived in the modern age. Lord Shingen was the head of the ancient noble family line of Clan Yashida. (Wolverine v1 #1) As leader of the clan, it was claimed that he had disgraced them by making them become a group of criminals. At some point, he was noted to had gotten involved with a woman who became pregnant with his son who was named Kenuichio Harada. However, Lord Shingen never spent time with this child and instead resided with the rest of the Yashida Clan in their stronghold. (Uncanny X-Men v1 #172)
Lord Shingen was noted to had fought and spared his sole remaining rival crimelord Nabatone Yokuse who was the oyabun of the Yakuza. (Uncanny X-Men v1 #172)

- In Marvel Anime: Wolverine, Shingen Yashida served as the man antagonist of the animated series where he was voiced by actor Hidekatsu Shibata in the Japanese version and actor Fred Tatasciore in the English dub. Shingen was the leader of the Kuzuryū crime syndicate in Japan that were one of the clans of the Yakuza and was the father of Mariko Yashida.

- In The Wolverine, Shingen Yashida appeared as an antagonist where he was portrayed by actor Hiroyuki Sanada. Shingen was the son of Ichirō Yashida who established the Yashida Zaibatsu and was the father of Mariko Yashida.
