Sidewinder (Seth Voelker)
- Main Article: Seth Voelker
Seth Voelker was a male human born on Earth in the modern age. At some point, he came to be an executive in the Roxxon Energy Corporation. During that time, he came to visit Quincy McIver in the hospital. The criminal had lost all four of his limbs to underwater propellers with Roxxon seeing an excellent opportunity to use him as a test case for experiments in cybernetic prosthetics. McIver accepted the offer and he was taken to the Brand Corporation labs for a week to undergo the transformation. Seth visited him when Quincy awoke where McIver found himself as Roxxon's idea of improvement where his legs had been replaced with a serpentine body. (Captain America Annual v1 #10) Roxxon then outfitted and trained Seth as Sidewinder, alongside Anaconda, Black Mamba, and Death Adder who formed the Serpent Squad. Their first assigment as a team was to find the Serpent Crown and bring it to Roxxon. To this end, they placed an oil derrick in the Pacific and used it as a base; once they found the Crown they set off underwater explosions to bring it to the surface; this had the unintended side effect of damaging the derrick. When the hero Stingray investigated underwater, Anaconda threw him back onto the derrick. (Marvel Two-in-One v1 #65) At that Pacific Roxxon oil derrick, the Serpent Society revealed themselves to Ben Grimm, demanding that he surrender. (Marvel Two-in-One v1 #64) When the Thing checked on Stingray, Anaconda snuck up behind him and punched him, giving Death Adder time to get his claws on Stingray; Sidewinder used the threat of Adder's toxins to force Grimm to agree to being chained, with Stingray, to a pylon. The Squad returned underwater, where Anaconda found the crown and gave it to Sidewinder, the Thing and Stingray soon returned, with the Inhuman Triton; Sidewinder teleported into the Squad's air-sub and fled while the others fought, dropping a depth charge which accidentally buried his teammates. (Marvel Two-in-One v1 #65) In the air-sub, Sidewinder went to Washington D.C., resisting the temptation to try the Crown on. In D.C. he turned it over to Roxxon president Hugh Jones, who was wearing a second crown; Jones revealed that he had fashioned the Serpent Squad to dredge up the Crown. Fearing the insane Jones' powers, Sidewinder quickly departed. (Marvel Two-in-One v1 #66)

Overview
The body armor he wore prevented his enemies from applying pressure on him and rendering him unconscious. (Captain America v1 #338)
Sidewinders most distinct ability was his cloak that allowed him the ability to teleport between points. This process was referred to as him performing a 'sidewind' where he rippled out of dimensional space and reappeared instantly at his destination. (Marvel Two-In-One v1 #65) The teleport-cloak operated using an nth-generator where it worked by opening up a wormhole. (Iron Man: Legacy v1 #8)
From the central eye on his forehead, he was capable of emitting ray blasts that he called his 'side effects'. These manifested as energy tendrils that were capable of killing a person. (Captain America v1 #338)
