The Spartoi

Geneticists amongst the Spartoi and the Shi'ar determined that they were both from a common yet remote ancestry. (Inhumans v3 #3)

The sixteenth Majestor of the Shi'ar Imperium policies were noted to had affected the territorial claims during the Spartoi Interregnum. (Nova v4 #23)

Sixteen weeks ago, King J'son attended a meeting amongst the galactic powers where he looked to declare the Earth a dangerous threat. The All-Mother of Asgard would brook no attack on the planet but were willing for it to be a banned world. This led to the passing of the Spartax Earth Directive that allowed the Spartoi military to arrest any unauthorised travellers that came to planet. (Guardians of the Galaxy v3 #2) J'son then went in search for his son Peter Quill where he warned him from approaching Earth and banned him from his home planet. (Guardians of the Galaxy v3 #1)

A diplomatic summit was convened at the Proscenium to explore how intergalactic relations would be impacted by the new Kree/Skrull Alliance, to discuss the status of the Pan-Worlds Treaties, and to seek a path towards stability and peace among the assembled factions. The Spartax attended the event alongside people from the Kree/Skrull Alliance, the Utopian Kree faction, the Kymellians, the Rigellians, Earth, the Galactic Rim Collective, the Badoon, the Shi'ar, the Chitauri, and the Zn'rx.   • The Spartoi were created by Chris Claremont and John Byrne where they made their first appearance in Marvel Preview v1 #11 (June, 1977).

Television

  • In Avengers Assemble, the Spartoi were mentioned in passing in the episode "The Arsenal" when alien fighters began to invade Earth. J.A.R.V.I.S. would inform Tony Stark that the metals on the crafts did not match Kronan, Chitauri or Spartoi design.
  • In Guardians of the Galaxy, the Spartax were first mentioned in the animated series episode "Road to Knowhere". Star-Lords Element Gun and the box container for the Cosmic Seed both were of Spartax design which only a memeet of that race could operate. Peter Quill learnt that he was half Spartax after bringing the box to Knowhere to the Broker.
  • In Guardians of the Galaxy, the Spartoi were introduced in the animated series as Spartaxians in the episode "Don't Stop Believin'". They were an advanced alien civilization who appeared similar to humans and based on their homeworld of Spartax.
