Energon (Comic)
Years after Unicron's attack on Cybertron, he confronted Scorponok as he recruited the Terrorcons. Scorponok, who never had much patience for Starscream, had him destroyed. However, Starscream revived as an insane, energon-empowered, bodiless spark "ghost."

Had the Transformers Energon comic continued, Starscream would have eventually faced off in a destructive energon-fueled battle against the Omnicons.
