Biography
Origin
Trigon
Around 20 years ago, cultists that worshipped him recently admitted a young 18 year old girl who was dabbling into the occult after losing faith in religion. Arella was then offered up as a bride of Satan where during the ceremony Trigon manifested in the form of a handsome man. (New Teen Titans v1 #6)
Sometime ago, a physicist named Dr. Simon Jones came to inadvertently create a tear in reality during his research to piece the barrier between dimensions. This drew Trigon's notice where he made contact with the human scientist and proceeded to transform the mortal into a living psionic now known as Psimon. He then came to serve Trigon as an advance agent on Earth where he was tasked with destroying the Teen Titans. (New Teen Titans v1 #3)
Trigon first emerged as a cosmic tyrant of unimaginable power, ruling over countless worlds and dimensions with merciless cruelty. His arrival in the narrative came through the revelation of Raven’s origin, where it was shown that he was her demonic father and the source of her powers. In his initial display of might, Trigon was presented as having destroyed entire civilizations without hesitation, demonstrating a godlike dominion over both physical and mystical realms. His existence was tied directly to conquest, destruction, and the subjugation of all life under his dominion. (New Teen Titans v1 #2) Trigon’s influence reached Earth when Raven sought the aid of the Teen Titans to prevent his incursion. As his essence seeped through the dimensional barrier, he began warping reality around him, causing devastation even before his full manifestation. The Titans encountered firsthand the terror of his looming arrival, as his mere presence in the threshold between dimensions caused fear, psychic disturbances, and an overwhelming sense of impending doom. This demonstrated his ability to exert power across realms without physically stepping into them. (New Teen Titans v1 #4) When Trigon finally manifested fully on Earth, his scale and magnitude were undeniable. Towering over cities, he easily overpowered the combined might of the Teen Titans and the Justice League, casually dismissing their most powerful attacks. His display of destructive force was immediate: he unleashed waves of energy capable of leveling landscapes, enslaved minds with a glance, and began reshaping the world to his liking. Only Raven’s intervention, harnessing her unique connection to him, allowed the heroes any chance of banishing his presence. (New Teen Titans v1 #6)
At some point, he came to be revived where he found his realm attacked by a thousand armies. Attacked on multiple fronts, Trigon came to be greatly weakened to the point that he was a shadow of his former self whilst his realm became a desolate land. (Titans v2 #2) In this state, he looked to re-establish his power base on Earth and had his male progeny namely the Sons of Trigon enact the plan that would open a portal that would the dimensions. Trigon's sons would also indirectly attack the Teen Titans using their powers of sin before launching an open attack against them. During the fighting, the half-demon brothers drained some of the magic from their sister Raven which they used to open the portal to Trigon. However, instead of freeing Trigon, they began draining him of his power thus killing him in the process. Before dying, Trigon expressed pride in his children and urged his sons to retreat so that they could better harness their demonic powers. Unknown to anyone, Raven had instilled in her half-brothers the sin of greed that caused them to turn against their father thus preventing him from regaining his former might. (Titans v2 #4)
Post-Flashpoint
Following the Flashpoint, a new version of reality was created with a different history of events. Trigon was originally the ruler of an unknown planet in the Multiverse. Eventually, a trinity of beings called the Divine came to his planet, during their quest to eradicate the concept of evil, through an item known as the Heart of Darkness. The Divine then used the Heart of Darkness on Trigon and his guards. However, they were horrified when Trigon not only resisted, but consumed the Heart of Darkness, along with the collected evils of nearly one hundred galaxies, which heralded the true birth of Trigon. With his newfound power, Trigon killed the Divine, who he revealed were his parents, before shredding them of their flesh and wearing their skin. (Teen Titans v4 #23.1) Now driven by insatiable hunger for evil, Trigon moved slowly from universe to universe, spreading his devastating brand of evil in order to sate a hunger that knows no end. He became the ruler of dozens of dark kingdoms across the multiverse. However, enslaving worlds eventually became tedious to him. (Teen Titans v4 #20) Trigon began summoning women from other worlds to mate with and impregnate them, then send them back in an attempt to spread his evil across countless universes. Thousands of brides were brought to Trigon, however all of them wither died during conception or took their own lives after being impregnated, as they couldn't live with the thought of giving birth to Trigon's spawn. (Teen Titans v4 #23.1) Eventually, Trigon was brought a human from Earth known as Arella, who gives him his first daughter; Raven. (Teen Titans v4 #23.1)
Overview
Personality and attributes
In appearance, Trigon was a massive red-skinned demon towering above mortals, his body humanoid in shape but monstrous in proportion. His most distinctive feature was the presence of four glowing eyes, two set in his face and two above them, burning constantly with infernal energy. He bore great horns protruding from his skull, clawed hands, and a physique of immense power draped in regal but minimal attire, symbolizing his role as a conqueror. His appearance was constant across his manifestations, serving as a reflection of his unchanging, eternal nature. (New Teen Titans v1 #2)
Trigon’s personality was defined by his utter ruthlessness, arrogance, and insatiable hunger for domination. He regarded all other beings as insignificant, tools or obstacles in his path of universal conquest. He displayed no compassion or loyalty, not even toward his offspring, viewing them solely as instruments for extending his influence. His cruelty was absolute, and his demeanor reflected the cold certainty of a being who had never known defeat across millennia of destruction. (New Teen Titans v1 #4)
It was said that Trigon was vicious and savage with him being the most hideous creature God could have created. (New Teen Titans v1 #6)
He believed that his worshippers existed only to obey his slightest whim. From the moment his followers were born, their total obedience was demanded along with their complete subservience. The lives of mortals though were meaningless to him as the life of an insect. Trigon brooked no defiance from his people where even the smallest of insult leading to punishment. The demon said that lessons needed to be taught in order for discipline to be maintained as he tolerated no challenge to his authority. He showed no mercy as he was even able to leave a child in a near death state for disrespect and kill them as well despite pleas to spare them. In another case, he destroyed an entire world for daring to defy him. (New Teen Titans v1 #6)
Trigon held himself and his progeny to be gods that stood above the rabble they ruled over. (New Teen Titans v1 #6) In addition to Raven, he had three other sons born from mortal women with these being Jared, Jesse and Jacob who formed the Sons of Trigon. These children were able to wield the power of sins and instil them in mortals. Trigon had intended for his male progeny to serve as a secondary means for him to breach the dimensional barrier and claim Earth. However, these children ended up betraying him and stealing his power for themselves. Despite that, Trigon had said that he was proud of his sons for embracing their demonic nature. (Titans v2 #4)
Another of his half-human children was a boy named Liam who after discovering his demonic heritage took the name Trilogy. (Lazarus Planet: Legends Reborn v1 #1)
He was shown to have had a niece born from one of his siblings with this being a female demoness named Bertok-Raaf. She came to operate on Earth where she operated as a demonic serial killer. (DC: The Doomed and the Damned v1 #1)
It was shown that he was not above lying in order to achieve his goals. (New Teen Titans v1 #6)
Powers and abilities
As a demonic entity of immense scale, Trigon’s physiology granted him near-omnipotence within the mortal plane. He wielded superhuman strength and durability beyond comprehension, shrugged off the combined assaults of the greatest heroes, and projected destructive energy blasts of devastating force. His four eyes could unleash beams capable of disintegration, enslavement, or burning through magical defenses. He possessed vast psychic and mystical powers, including reality warping, telepathy, and dimensional control, with his true form existing partially outside of time and space, making him nearly impossible to kill. (New Teen Titans v1 #6)
Some accounts claimed him to be the most powerful demonic entity ever seen on Earth. (Titans v2 #4) His limitless power was shown to had instilled fear within the higher beings known as the Quintessence. (Titans v4 #9)
One of his powers was his death stare that he could use with his upper eyes. Through a simple gaze, he could cause a person to seize up and be trapped in agony as their blood boiled and their body decayed. (New Teen Titans v1 #6)
With a gesture, he was able to kill a person and leave nothing but ash standing in their place. (New Teen Titans v1 #6)
Among the creatures in his dark horde were the Darklings. (New Teen Titans v1 #6)
It was said that his realm was the metaphysical manifestation of his own being and thus reflected him. (Titans v2 #2)

- In Injustice: Gods Among Us, Trigon made a cameo appearance in the game and had a non-voiced role. He appeared in the special attack of Raven where she teleports her enemies into another dimension to be attacked by demons whereupon her father Trigon fires his infernal eye beams sending the opponent crashing back to the battlefield. In the alternate world of the One Earth Regime, the now demonically corrupted Raven served High Councilor Superman where she stated that his tyrannical rule would hasten Trigon's return to the planet.
