Biography
Vanessa Enoteca (Japanese: バネッサ・エノテーカ, Hepburn: Banessa Enotēka) was a female human born witch who lived in the Forest of Witches (魔女の森, Majo no Mori). She quickly came to be a favourite of the Queen of Witches (魔女の女王, Majo no Joō) who one day saw the young girl show off her thread magic. The Witch Queen came to foresee the potential of Vanessa's magic to alter fate and decided to cage the young girl where she demanded that she improve her magic. This led to the young Vanessa being trapped in a cage where she could do nothing but try and practice her magic. In this time, she fell into depression over her imprisonment and remained there for several years. This was until Yami Sukehiro invaded the forest and accidentally broke Vanessa's prison. At first, she felt that it was her fate to remain caged but Yami told her to ignore fate and instead do what she wanted to do in life. This led to her leaving the Witches Forest with him and travelling to the Clover Kingdom where she joined the ranks of the Magic Knights and was recruited in Yami's magic squad the Black Bulls.
After getting herself wasted through the night, Vanessa is woken up by the loud sound of Magna Swing bickering with Luck Voltia. She starts arguing with Magna until Yami steps in and orders all of them to stop. Vanessa, along with the rest of the Black Bull members, immediately greet their captain, who had just returned from the Magic Knights Entrance Exam. She tries to ask him to join her for a drink, but quickly goes quiet when Yami introduces a new member, Asta. Vanessa tries to seduce the new member after hearing that he comes from a small village, but she accidentally vomits near him. Not long after, Vanessa witnessed Magna's initiation ceremony for Asta, who manages to pass easily and to become officially one of the Black Bull Squad. To congratulate him, Vanessa embeds the squad's insignia on Asta's headband. She then tries to introduce herself to him but Magna quickly takes the new member on a tour of the headquarters.
Later at dawn, Vanessa is having a drink on one of the headquarters' balconies when she sees a giant sphere of water suddenly manifest itself near the vicinity. She goes near it, along with Yami and a couple of other members, to assess the situation. Fortunately, Yami is able to find a solution and asks Asta to stop it from getting worse. As soon as Asta manages to save Noelle Silva from inside the sphere, Vanessa quickly tries to comfort her along with the other members by offering her assistance on finding a solution to better control her magical power and more. After that, Vanessa joins a few other members of the Black Bull in the dining hall for a meal. When Asta asks them about the duty of the Magic Knights, Vanessa drunkenly explains that their job is to protect while also mentioning the probability of finding a partner during a bodyguard duty.
Overview
Personality and attributes
In appearance, Vanessa Enoteca was a tall young human woman with wavy mid-back length pink hair that she kept in a loose lob hairstyle with bangs swept to the left side, purple eyes, full lips and a voluptuous body.
Typically, she was shown as having a very relaxed manner who did things at her own pace. This went to the point of being somewhat lazy as she could be seen doing nothing all day beyond drinking and sleeping.
She had a high fondness of alcoholic drinks and of handsome men. It was her love of alcohol that led to her being known as the Drunken Frenzy Witch by others.
Vanessa showed little in the terms of modesty and did not feel embarrassed when wearing revealing attire and was most comfortable lying around the squad's headquarters in her underwear regardless who saw her. In one case, she wore a bikini and received no reaction from Asta or Mgna who told her that it was no different than what she usually wore at their headquarters.
Vanessa was a very caring person such as when she offered her help to assist Noelle in finding a way to control her magic.
She had a tendency to flirt with men which included her team mates. This was shown with her flirting with both her captain and even a new recruit.
Enoteca was aware of her faults and used to see herself as little more than a drunk woman. This was until Asta's faith in her gave her the will to stand by him and help him fight.
Powers and abilities
Her magic manifested in her being able to use Thread Magic (糸魔法 Ito Mahō) that was an attribute that allowed her to generate and manipulate threads. Enoteca's magic defied standard conventions which led to her being classed as an Arcane Stage (冥域, Meiiki).

A citizen of the Clover Kingdom (クローバー王国 Kurōbā Ōkoku), she came to be a 3rd Class Junior Magic Knight (魔法騎士, Mahō Kishi) of the Black Bull (黒の暴牛 Kuro no Bōgyū) squad.
