History

Origin

The X-Corporation (X-Corps) was an organization that was created by Professor X after he had publicly revealed himself to the world as a Mutant with him attempting to promote Mutant rights and public relations through the company. (New X-Men Annual v1 #2001)

In the wake of M-Day, Mutants from around the world began to lose their powers with X-Corps being consulted by the media but they released no comments about the event. At the France office, anti-Mutant attackers sent an truck armed with explosives into the X-Corporation building causing its destruction. After the incident, Cyclops ordered all the X-Corps offices to be evacuated and closed with the Xavier Institute serving as a safe haven for the remaining Mutants in the world. (House of M The Day After v1 #1)

House of X

After the establishment of Krakoa, the living island came to be made into a nation and homeland for all Mutants. During this time, the X-Corporation was re-established where it was headed by Warren Worthington III and Monet St. Clair where they had to contend with the machinations of Jean Pierre Kol who sought to sabotage the Mutants corporate ventures. (X-Corp v1 #1)

Under the X-Corp rebrand, the company looked to expand into the field of telecommunications as part of its new portfolio. (X-Corp v1 #3)

Overview

It was a non-governmental aid organization that was tasked with promoting Mutant rights. (House of M The Day After v1 #1) Originally, it served as a corporate embassy and Mutant lobbying organization that protected the rights and safety of Mutants around the world. The establishment of the nation of Krakoa made X-Corporation obsolete and was re-organised into a holding structure for Charles Xavier's financial profile. It then became responsible for the oversight, research and development and production wing of Krakoa's primary export which was the pharmaceutical Flowers of Krakoa. (X-Corp v1 #1)

X-Corp came to develop a number of divisions which included:

  • X-Corp Pharma : a branch that was responsible for the Krakoan medicinals that were exported to around the world. (X-Corp v1 #3)
  • X-Corp Telecom : a newly formed branch that expanded into the field of telecommunications. (X-Corp v1 #3)

Among its offices included sites in:

  • London :
  • New York :
  • Paris :
  • Krakoa : after the establishment of Krakoa, the main branch of the X-Corporation was situated on the living island. (X-Corp v1 #1)

Among the products of the company included:

  • Flowers of Krakoa : medicinals and pharmaceuticals generated by the living island of Krakoa with variations exported by the company that offered different effects to humans. (X-Corp v1 #1)

The X-Corp buildings often served as a haven not only for their staff but for their families. It was this reason that they often served as focal points for conflict between pro-Mutant and anti-Mutant advocates. (House of M The Day After v1 #1)

It later established its main headquarters on Krakoa which was capable of being mobile an flying through the sky to various locations. The X-Corporation also maintained a number of Flower Processing Plants in various locations such as the Savage Land that were used to cultivate and grow the Flowers of Krakoa. (X-Corp v1 #1)
