Yahata-Maru

The Yahata-Maru was a fishing ship that was the first to encounter Godzilla following his reappearance in 1984. Although Godzilla himself never touched the ship and did little more than frighten the crew, mutated sea lice from Godzilla's body attacked the Yahata-Maru and killed all of its crew except for Hiroshi Okumura, who was found alive by reporter Goro Maki after Maki stumbled across the drifting ship while yachting.
