Biography

Misa was a female member of the genetically engineered human race known as the Hairies. She was born the daughter of their leader Jude and his life-mate Lucy Diamond Sky. It was said that their daughter had undergone an accelerated growth rate that may have cultivated a strong independent streak in her. Whilst growing up, she was always taught how Jude held a strong regard for Superman and had forbidden Misa from ever visiting the Project Cadmus facility. (Adventures of Superman v1 #542) Though her people were peaceful, she was regarded as the first to display rebellious attitudes with her being against the words of her elders. She came to turn against their values and even went to marry Bron of the Outsiders. (Superman v2 #115)

Upon intruding into Project Cadmus, Misa was stopped by Floyd Barstow, whom she scratched, and exposed to one of her devices, resulting in his becoming Anomaly. (Adventures of Superman v1 #539)

She later infiltrated Cadmus disguised as Shino Kurosawa. (Adventures of Superman v1 #542)

Following Jimmy Olsen's announcement that he knew who Superman was, Misa turned away from her life of crime and travelled with Jimmy when he was being chased by Intergang. After a few adventures, including some with Scorn and Ashbury Armstrong, they returned to Metropolis where Misa used a device to make Jimmy invisible to Intergang. The two seemed to be romantically involved.

Misa later joins Maxima, Anomaly, Barrage and Riot in forming the Superman Revenge Squad for no other reason then to annoy Superman.

When Mainframe banished the Hairies to another dimension, Misa abandoned her villainous ways to help Superman rescue them. (Superman 3-D v1 #1)

Some of the Hairies referred to her as Mischievous Misa. (Superman v2 #115)
