  • Perry White was created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster where he made his first appearance in Superman v1 #7 (November, 1940).

Films

  • In Superman Returns, Perry White appeared in the live-action film where he was portrayed by actor Frank Langella. He was the editor in chief at the Daily Planet with him having a nephew named Richard White who was also a reporter. Richard White later married his co-worker Lois Lane with the pair having a child named Jason White.
Originally, the character was to be portrayed by actor Hugh Laurie but a schedule conflict meant he had to drop out of the role.
  • In the DC Extended Universe, Perry White made a number of appearances in the shared continuity setting.
    • In Man of Steel, Perry White made his first appearance in the live-action film where he was portrayed by actor Laurence Fishburne.
    • In Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Perry White returned in the live-action sequel where he was portrayed again by actor Laurence Fishburne.
