It was then that the [[Sinestro Corps]] made their existence known by launching a surprise attack on Oa. In the midst of the fighting, Kyle Rayner was targeted by a yellow Power Ring that forcibly transported him into the Anti-Matter Universe. Once there, he witnessed a gathering of Sinestro as he assembled his Yellow Lantern army and attempted to warn his fellow Green Lanterns but was ambushed by his foes. He was defeated and Sinestro pulled the Ion entity from his body thus revealing its existence to everyone. Biography

  • Ion the Entity was re-imagined in this role by Geoff Johns and Ethan Van Sciver with this featuring in Green Lantern: Sinestro Corps Special v1 #1.

Television

  • In Green Lantern: The Animated Series, Ion was not mentioned but perhaps referenced in the episode "Scarred". The Central Power Battery was mentioned as containing a living entity within it that acted as a wellspring for willpower that powered the Green Lantern Corps. After the failure of the Manhunters, the Science Director during her attempt at creating Aya but she only emerged as a lifeless artificial intelligence. Thus, the Oan Director secretly went to the Central Power Battery and took a sliver of the entity and used it to imbue Aya with sentience.
