The Entropy Aegis was the burnt out shell of an [[Imperiex]] Probe that had been taken by [[Darkseid]] and retrofitted with technology from [[Apokolips]]. It was designed to be used as a weapon against Imperiex by turning the cosmic destroyer's own power against him. Darkseid had intended for [[Superman]] to be the wearer of the armour and had him teleported against his will to Apokolips following a battle where the [[Kryptonians|Kryptonian]] was nearly killed by Imperiex. In a daze, [[Parademons]] and [[Kalibak]] were tasked with quickly placing him in the armour before he regained consciousness but they were too late to accomplish the task. Darkseid himself battled the Man of Steel but revealed that they were not enemies but allies against a common foe.
