History
The Entropy Aegis was the burnt out shell of an Imperiex Probe that had been taken by Darkseid and retrofitted with technology from Apokolips. It was designed to be used as a weapon against Imperiex by turning the cosmic destroyer's own power against him. Darkseid had intended for Superman to be the wearer of the armour and had him teleported against his will to Apokolips following a battle where the Kryptonian was nearly killed by Imperiex.
