History

Origin

The Creature Commandos were the creations of U.S. Army Project M that was an effort to create monstrous superhuman operatives that were based on creatures derived from the dark levels of mankind's subconscious. (Weird War Tales v1 #93)

Post-Flashpoint

Following the Flashpoint, a new version of reality was created with a different history of events. Division M were the creations of S.H.A.D.E.'s Science Division who created a team of field operatives who preferred to call themselves the Creature Commandos. The team were deployed to assist Frankenstein following an incident at Bone Lake, Washington when an army of monsters began to emerge from the lake. (Frankenstein, Agent of S.H.A.D.E. v1 #1)
