Biography
Origin
Shilo Norman
Even as a young child, he liked to get himself in traps and attempt to get out of them. (Seven Soldiers: Mister Miracle v1 #4)
He was with his brother only to watch him be murdered by a local gang. Shilo came to run to the police where he was under the protective custody of police officer Solomon Driver who requested the aid of Mister Miracle. (Mister Miracle v1 #15)
With his brothers killer arrested, Shilo did not know what else was there in his life though Mister Miracle came to sense much potential in the boy. He decided to help train him to be a Junior Miracle and follow in Scott's footsteps. (Mister Miracle v1 #15)

He came to learn of Darkseid's machinations and his intention of preventing the discovery of the Life Equation that resided in each of the elemental forces of Earth. Thus, Shilo journeyed to meet Firestor in order to find Martin Stein and warm him that forces of Apokolips intended to steal the Firestorm Matrix from him. Orion arrived in order to eliminate Firestorm rather than allow him to fall into enemy hands. (Firestorm v3 #33) Their fight was interrupted by the arrival of the Female Furies that intended to take Stein. Shilo worked eith the heroes in stopping the Furies from accomplishing their mission. (Firestorm v3 #34)
When the Starheart went rogue, the mystical relic came to possess Alan Scott and forced him to build a citadel on the Moon whilst its magical influence caused havoc on Earth. To stop it, Shilo Norman was recruited into the new Justice League where as Mister Miracle he helped them circumvent the defences of the lunar citadel. He took the team deep inside but came to be wounded by dog constructs that formed to protect the structure from intruders. Though injured, Mother Boxxx came to heal him but his team mates had to proceed without him to stop the out of control Alan Scott. (Justice League of America v2 #47)
Post-Flashpoint
Following the Flashpoint, a new version of reality was created with a different history of events. As a kid, he helped the original Mister Miracle Thaddeus Brown until his death at the hands of the mobster Steel Hand whereupon he met Scott Free. As he took the identity, he showed Shilo the technology of the New Gods and gave him a Mother Box. Norman later took on a costumed identity as Mister Miracle and was involved in a escape artist act that would have killed him with the Black Racer seeking to claim his soul but Shilo managed to evade this fate. - Shilo Norman was created by Jack Kirby where he made his first appearance in Mister Miracle v1 #15 (August, 1973).
Alternate Versions
- In Future State: Superman of Metropolis v1 #1 (2021), an alternate version of Shilo Norman was shown to exist in the possible timeline of Future State. It was revealed that he made an addition to his Mother Box (M.B.) that was the Parasite Effect whereby it absorbed ambient cosmic background radiation and channel it into a single blast. The risk of its use though was that it could potentially end up destroying the Mother Box.
