History

The Jade Dragons were an ancient order that was founded in many years ago in China following the death of the Mandarin. This ruthless tyrant was entombed within his city but a prophecy spoke of his return. Thus, a band of warriors formed together in order to prevent this time from coming to pass. They continued to operate even during the modern age where they were considered a band of terrorists though they actually operated to desperately any attempt at bringing about the return of the Mandarin. This moment came to pass when Howard Stark's company was helping in an archaeological dig to raise the sunken city of the Mandarin. As a result, the Jade Dragon's struck at the site which saw James Rhodes missing and later struck again when Tony Stark was at the site. During this attack, they managed to capture the younger Stark who became wounded and had a piece of shrapnel near his heart. The terrorists force both Rhodes and Stark to build a device in order to sink the Mandarin's city once more. However, Tony Stark built the Iron Man Armor and escaped from the site following the construction of an artificial lung to support himself. This act brought some hope to the Jade Dragon's as despite the escape they believed that this Iron Knight was a prophesized warrior that could perhaps defeat the Mandarin. However, the prophecy only stated that one person would perish in this struggle. Ultimately, the Elemental warriors of the Mandarin were awakened and it was shown that the Jade Dragon's had been infiltrated by descendants of the Mandarin with Li Mei being the latest of this line. She would attempt to resurrect her ancestor and serve as a vessel for his power to bring about his return. However, she turned against him which allowed Tony Stark to defeat him though this came at the cost of Li Mei's life.
