Biography
Stephen Shin
It was said that Stephen had been responsible for teaching the young Arthur Curry the use of his abilities. (Aquaman v7 #3)
His home was visited by Aquaman and Mera after they had encountered a mysterious humanoid creature called a Trench. They had brought the creature to Shin for study where it was killed where he surmised that it emerged from the Mid-Atlantic Range out of the Trench due to the sulphide minerals that coated the specimen's gills. Arthur then took the Trench corpse away rather than leave it with Shin who begged for Aquaman to leave it behind and for further proof on the location of Atlantis but these fell on deaf ears.
