This created a change in the timeline as the younger Raiden was guided by the scattered visions of the future where he sought to avert this dark future.
By this point, Sheeva was appointed the new ruler of the Shokan where she came to lead them as Queen. This also saw Kotal Kahn come into power on Outworld though the Shokan refused to ally with his empire. In this time, the realms faced turmoil when the Titan Kronika sought to re-write the timeline to form a new universe according to her vision for balance. This manipulation of the timestream brought people from various points in the past with among them including Shao Kahn who allied with the Keeper of Time. This caused Outworld to become divided amongst the two Kahn's who sought to eliminate the other. The Shokan did not ally with anyone during this time with past version of Princess Kitana attempting to gain their aid against Shao Kahn. However, Queen Sheeva refused as her people had not been treated well by Kotal Kahn and she was not convinced that the Osh-Tekk was a strong ally. Despite this, Sheeva told the Edenian Princess that if she managed to get the Tarkatans to side with her then the Shokan would similarly ally themselves with their forces.
