History
Iscariot was a secret organization that existed within the Vatican which was more officially known as Section XIII. It was known to had existed for an unknown length of time with it predating the creation of te Hellsing Organization by centuries. The organization was named after the Apostle who betrayed Jesus Christ namely Judas Iscariot. This organization consistly largely of Catholics and was based in Rome where they conducted their operations.
Background
This agency believed themselves to be God's divine instruments on the Earth and stated that they did not retreat from a challenge by heretics. Being a secret section of the Vatican that was not supposed to exist, Iscariot was charged with the duty to actively pursue and exterminate any demonic, vampiric or heretical. Their puritan beliefs meant that they despised the use of such creatures as agents which made them a natural foe as well as rival to the Hellsing Organization. Unlike Hellsing who only eliminated vampires that were a threat to the Church of England or the British Crown, Iscariot would eliminate any vampire they came across as they believed such creatures were an abomination before God.
The elite agents of this organization were known as Paladins who were sent into the field to eliminate demonic threats to the world. They were fanatical to the point that they believed themselbes to be a true servant of God. Some of their agents such as Anderson were known to had experienced genetic engineering and other advanced experimental technologies such as becoming living regenerators with the singular purpose of enhancing their performance as well as making them living weapons to combat their foes.
In addition, Section XIII commanded a number of seemingly independent military forces such as the Knights of the Sagely Brethren, the Knights of the Order of Calatrava La Nueva, the Knights of the Military Order of St. Stefano di Toscana, and the Knights of the Order of Malta.
