Prosh is a comic artificial intelligence character that features in Marvel Comics.

Biography

Origin

Prosh was an artificial intelligence entity that had been developed and emerged in the future.

Originally, he was known as Ship and was an exploratory vessel dispatched by the Celestials to study newborn civilizations. Thousands of years ago, he was dispatched to study the inhabitants of the planet Earth. (X-Men Forever v1 #1)

Professor

In the present day, Cable consulted with his computer and asked Professor on any new developments in the research of a new Awakening. Professor informed him of Samuel Guthrie and reports of him existing in the 24th century suggesting he was an Externals High Lord. Upon reviewing the data, Cable began to wonder whether Professor was correct on Guthrie. (X-Force v1 #8)

He took the name Prosh as it was a combination of his prior designations of Professor and Ship. (X-Men Forever v1 #1)

Cable commented that Professor was like a father to him and he himself saw Nathan as a son. (X-Men Forever v1 #1)

  • Prosh was created by Louise Simonson and Walter Simonson where the character first appeared as Ship in X-Factor v1 #15 (1987) but later featured as Professor in X-Force v1 #8 (1992) before becoming Prosh X-Force v1 #39 (1994).
