Intergang later hired Giganta to attack La Dama in an effort to eliminate her so that they could take her territory. The attack on her home led to her identity being exposed as being La Dama which shocked and angered Brenda who left the home. (Blue Beetle v8 #19) She began to stay at the Reyes residence with La Dama arriving at the premises attempting to bring her niece back into her life. (Blue Beetle v8 #22)
