Events

• Doctor Who (Expanded Universe): Bernice Summerfield and Jason Kane marry in the village of Cheldon Bonniface. In attendance are the Seventh Doctor, Sherlock Holmes and many others from across time and space. (Happy Endings)

• Matrix (Films): Humans begin to create humanoid drone robots with Artificial Intelligence to fill jobs as construction laborers and servants. ("The Second Renaissance" Part I (The Animatrix); Associated Press' Matrix timeline)

• Space Odyssey: A Russian-American expedition departs for Jupiter on board the Alexei Leonov. (2010: Odyssey Two; 2010: The Year We Make Contact)

• Transformers (Japan): The Quintessons begin their attempts to retake Seibertron. Quintessa is destroyed in an attempt to kill the Cybertron leaders, making the Quintessons nomads. Galvatron is located on Thrull and retakes leadership of the Destrons- however, his insane leadership "style" leads to few victories and much dissent. The Quintessons fail to retake Seibertron on their first attempt, leading to several other plans- their attempts feature such pawns as a resurrected Convoy, a Time Window and the Trans-Organics. Dinosaurer is resurrected, only to lose to Metroflex on several occasions. Starscream returns as a spark ghost, and is eventually set adrift in space after nearly resurrecting Unicron. Grimlock saves the universe from Tornitron. The Hate Plague is stopped by a truly reborn Convoy, who saves the universe from it by using all the energies of the Matrix.
