History
Ōtsutsuki clan (大筒木一族, Ōtsutsuki Ichizoku) were an ancient clan of horned celestial beings (天津人, amatsubito) that inhabited the universe. For eons, they were known to cross worlds and dimensions to seek out worlds seeded with the God Tree (神樹, Shinju, English TV: Divine Tree) in order to harvest the chakra from its fruit. Two members of the clan namely Kaguya Ōtsutsuki and Isshiki Ōtsutsuki came to Earth to collect the fruit of the God Tree and prepare its chakra for the rest of their kin.

The Clan were known to seek out God Trees across the cosmos in order to harvest its fruit and consume the chakra within them. Eating the fruit increased their power and also prolonged members of the Ōtsutsuki.
