Lost Unit
The Lost Unit, also referred to as the Lost Unit of Ruined Beings or as the Lost Numbers, are a group of unique Zoanoids that feature in Guyver.
Background
This group fo Zoanoids are formed from those individuals who have failed their Optimization through some unknown mutation and end up possessing unique abilities. These abilities unfortunately cannot be produced and, as such, the Zoanoids are considered useless as they cannot be instilled within newer Zoanoids. Such individuals are formed into the Lost Unit who are used in very specific missions where their unique talents can be put to use or for extensive torturous experimentation.
Due to their situation, members of the Lost Units are looked down upon by either Zoanoids who consider them nothing more then trash and freaks of nature. The Zoalords themselves make little use of the Lost Unit for another reason; the telepathic link that links the Zoalord to the Zoanoid and controls them is extremely weak among members of the Lost Unit making such individuals dangerous as they could go rogue. Beyond this, the Lost Unit are considered expendable in combat and little is placed on their loss.
