IG-88 is a robotic film character who features in Star Wars.

Biography
IG-88 was a bounty hunter droid who was among those hired by Darth Vader to retrieve the crew of the Millennium Falcon.
He was one of a number of bounty hunters that received a summons from Darth Vader where he travelled to the Super Star Destroyer Executor. Once there, he joined others that included Boba Fett, Bossk, Dengar, Zuckuss and 4-LOM.

Notes
- IG-88 was created by George Lucas and featured in the setting of the Star Wars universe.
- Ralph McQuarrie's production sketches show a sleeker design than the droid that appears in The Empire Strikes Back.
- The term "IG-88" itself was not the original label with the script calls the character a "chrome war droid", and during production it was called a "Phlutdroid".
- The production puppet consisted of recycled props from Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, including the use of a Mos Eisley Cantina drink dispenser as its head.
Alternate Versions
- In Star Wars Legends, IG-88A received a largely different backstory in the former Star Wars Expanded Universe. He was revealed as one of four assassin droids created as Project Phlutdroid. After activation, he killed his creators at Hollowan Laboratories and implanted copies of his mind in the other three IG-88 series bodies creating IG-88B, IG-88C and IG-88D. He believed he was superior to organic life and intended to wipe out biological entities from the galaxy where he operated as a bounty hunter whilst looking to achieve his goal.

Video games
- In Star Wars: Empire at War: Forces of Corruption, IG-88 appeared as a playable character in the 2006 strategy video game expansion where he was voiced by actor Frank Klepacki. The character and his ship the IG-1000 could be played where they were part of the Zann Consortium.
- In Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron, IG-88 appeared as a playable character for the Empire in the video game.
- In Star Wars Battlefront: Elite Squadron, IG-88 appeared as a playable character for the Empire in the video game.
