History

The Newtype (Japanese: ニュータイプ, Hepburn: Nyūtaipu?) were a new stage of human evolution that developed as mankind began to colonise space. Their emergence was based on the theory that humanity had begun to evolve to living in space. The prevailing theory was originally conceived by Zeon Zum Deikun who proposed that as humanity began to expand into space that all latent abilities would blossom in order to adapt to the great void of space. He also believed that their emergence would lead to mankind being able to understand one another without any misconceptions.

Overview

They were known to had evolved a heightened degree of mental awareness with this being believed to had evolved to allow them to adapt to life in space. Their high degree of focus and spatial awareness was to such a level as to be almost akin to a sixth sense. Newtypes were shown to be capable of empathically capable of detecting other members of their kind. In addition, they were sensitive to the hostile intentions directed to them by the others allowing them to react before someone else could engage in a hostile action.

The majority of Newtypes tended to emerge among the Spacenoid that were humans that lived among the space colonies.
