During the Chaos War, Amatsu-Mikaboshi destroyed the dreaming causing the living to fall into a slumber and then shattered the underworld leading to the dead rising into the world. Moira awoke alongside many of the slain members of the X-Men where she found her old love Banshee. These X-Men rallied under the leadership of Thunderbird as they attempted to take stock of their situation. They uncovered clues within Destiny's diaries that contained information about the crisis they faced when they came under attack from the demonic Apache trickster god Carrion Crow. - Moira MacTaggert was created by Chris Claremont and Dave Cockrum where she made her first appearance in Uncanny X-Men v1 #96 (December, 1975).
- During House of X, writer Jonathan Hickman retconned the characters backstory revealing her to be a Mutant who had experienced multiple lives.
