- Lord of the Rings: c. 5088 BC (III 1974). Arthedain and Fornost fall to the forces of the Witch-King of Angmar. (The Return of the King)
- Lord of the Rings: c. 5087 BC (III 1975). Arvedui dies, drowned in the Bay of Forochel. The palantiri at Annuminas and Amon Sul disappear. King Earnur of Gondor leads a fleet to Lindon, but is too late to save the North-Kingdom. At the Battle of Fornost, the Witch-King of Angmar is defeated, and driven North. (The Return of the King)
- Lord of the Rings: c. 5086 BC (III 1976). Aranarth becomes chieftain of the Dunedain; Arnor's heirlooms are given to Elrond. (The Return of the King)
- Lord of the Rings: c. 5085 BC (III 1977). The Eotheod are led to the North by Frumgar. (The Return of the King)

- Lord of the Rings: c. 5019 BC (III 2043). Shortly after he becomes king of Gondor, Earnur receives a challenge from the Witch-King of Angmar. (The Return of the King)
- Lord of the Rings: c. 5012 BC (III 2050). The Witch-King of Angmar challenges Earnur once again- this time, the king answers, and disappears after riding out to Minas Morgul. Mardil becomes the first Steward of Gondor. (The Return of the King)
