• Cowboy Bebop: Spike Spiegel buys a lobster, but forgets about it after putting it in the refrigerator. Unknown to him, it was contaminated with an mysterious creature that grew and spawned in the fridge over the next year. ("Toys in the Attic")

• Planet of the Apes (Comics): Jason, Alexander, and the Lawgiver find themselves in a conflict regarding the Inheritors. At the same time, they begin to get a hint of what is happening in the world outside of Ape City's general boundaries. Mute half-man/half-ape mutations have begun to surface and live near the Forbidden Zone. In Europe, many small, semi-nomadic communities of apes and humans also exist, each as isolated as the others.
