Sleepwalker (species)
Sleepwalkers are a type of supernatural nomadic vampiric species that feature in the movie Sleepwalker.
Backgrounds
Sleepwalkers are a feline vampire species that are capable of shapeshifting into Human form and able to survive almost undetected within Human society. Despite their Human appearance, they are far stronger then a Human and able rip off a Human hand with little difficulty and even bite a Human finger off. They are far more resilient as well and are capable of shrugging of bullets along with deep cats that would kill a Human. When demonstrating their true form, they gradually become more cat-like in form. In this form, they appear as large werecats though do not possess fur of any kind but rather a type of leathery hide.
They are also capable of making themselves Dim which is a type of induced invisibility power that they can project on themselves or others though it requires some power and those Sleepwalkers that are injured might not have the strength to do so. In addition to this, they appear to have some telekinetic abilities as Mary Brady was able to mentally start a music player.
Similar to vampires, Sleepwalkers need to feed on Humans. However, this nourishment does not come from blood but rather from the lifeforce of the person. They tend to find such energy from young virgins and draw the life energy from the persons mouth. Sleepwalkers have long lifespans and are quite possibly immortal; as long as they maintain their feeding. However, they are capable of being killed though its equally possible to resurrect a recently dead Sleepwalker.
Unlike vampires, Sleepwalkers do not suffer from sunlight burning them, however, they do possess a natural enemy which, ironically, are cats which become immediately aggressive when a Sleepwalker is present. Infact, Sleepwalkers are afraid of cats and attempt to remain as far from them as possible. An attack from a cat tend to have a burning affect on a Sleepwalker who suffer a great deal of pain from them. Despite that, a lone Sleepwalker is quite capable of killing loe cats that have attacked them.
Interestingly, when a Sleepwalker has made a den within a location, the local cats tend to congregate around the spot - waiting to attack. Furthermore, pictures taken of them tend to be distorted and somewhat show their true form.
