Chairface Chippendale was a criminal mastermind and the closest thing the Tick has to an arch-enemy. Driven into a life of crime by the ridicule that came as a result of the fact he has a chair for a head. He rarely takes direct action in his schemes, leaving the dirty work to his equally deformed henchmen like Dean, the Forehead, Boils Brown, and Professor Chromedome. It's also interesting to note that his high society lifestyle has led him to believe that suspense is passe.

His greatest scheme involved defacing the moon. At his annual birthday celebration, he planned to use the Awesome Heat Ray to carve his name into the surface of the moon, a crime that would permanently burn his name into the annals of villainy. His plans were stopped by the Tick, Arthur, and American Maid. Although he and his henchmen went to prison, he vowed (quite aptly) that no prison could hold Chairface Chippendale. He went on to be a special guest at the Enemy Awards, and was also invited to the Brainchild's auction of the Tick (where he was ready to pay top dollar to own the Tick after ruining his birthday).

When Dot and Dinosaur Neil were announced to be married, Chairface took it upon himself to ruin the wedding. With his allies El Seed, the Breadmaster, and the Indigestible Man, he switched Neil's pills, promoting the growth of Neil's dinosaur DNA and sending him on a second rampage during the ceremony.

Chairface hated public appearances so when he heard about the Mad Scientist Convention, he sent Professor Chromedome to spread his evil. Chromedome's mission was to steal J. J. Vatos' mind swapping machine and bring it back to his mansion. Chromedome did so, but in the body of the Tick, thoroughly frightening Chairface. When Chairface received the machine from Chromedome, he double-crossed him, taking the Tick body and giving Chromedome his old body (much to Chromedome's horror, as his hyper-scientific mind was driven into madness trying to figure out how Chairface's chair head was capable of speech).

Chairface was eventually returned to his old body when the Tick and friends defeated him with advanced high school tactics, and the criminal mastermind was returned to his old body once more.
