Jericho missiles

Jericho missiles were a type of weapon system that featured in the Iron Man movie.

Background

The Jericho was constructed by Stark Industries and demonstrated by Tony Stark as the latest high tech weapon system for use by the U.S. military. Testing was revealed to the U.S. base in Afghanistan where it was revealed that the system was a turret which contained three of the Jericho missiles. Once launched, the missiles would separate into numerous smaller warheads once they neared the target leaving the missile to fall allowing them smaller missiles to strike the target causing numerous devastating explosions that were capable of sending a blast wave.

Obediah Stane of Stark Industries had been dealing secretly in handing these weapons to terrorist organizations like the Ten Rings in order to gain extra revenue. This was discovered by Iron Man who destroyed the three sold weapon systems.
