Sammael was a demon that featured in the first Hellboy movie.
Background
Sammael was known as the Desolate One and was noted to have been theSon of Nergal. His other titles included Lord of the Shadows, Hound of Resurrection, Harbinger of Pestilence and the Seed of Destruction. He was a two legged amphibious looking demon that on occassion used its forearms as legs. Its mouth contained a long tongue that was capable of shooting out and grabbing onto enemies and had a burning effect on its enemies. He was capable of healing his injuries and returning from the dead making him a difficult foe to face.
He fought Hellboy at one point.
