History

The Botbot was a large mechanized suit of armor created to assist the Batman. It was constructed from the latest in Wayne Industries engineering technology and was used by Bruce Wayne as part of his arsenal for his war against crime. Wayne created a prototype of the machine where he was fixing some of the problems with the design in the Batcave. During the battle with Bane, Batman was badly wounded with him facing multiple fractures as a result. He managed to get back to Wayne Manor with the help of his butler Alfred Pennysworth and during this time Bane continued his crime spree. Still healing, Wayne decided to finish the construction of the Batbot armor for a second confrontation with Bane. Inside the suit, he returned to continue the fight with the masked mercenary. Despite the use of the Batbot, Bane managed to quickly overpower the suit and nearly defeated the Batman again. Bruce, however, managed to use a freed arm to stab a power cable into the venom injector on Bane's arm thus forcing him to experience pain and drift into unconsciousness. Afterwards, the Batman called Alfred to help retrieve him and the Batbot which needed repairs following the battle. (Episode: Traction)

After Catwoman stole Batman's utility belt, she started examining the device and its contents in an effort to use its tools for herself. During her examination, she accidently tapped into the Bat-Wave and activated the Batbot remotely at the Batcave where it went on a rampage. This led to it destroying the auxiliary Bat-Wave transmitter and battle Batman until Selina Kyle shut it down. (Episode: The Cat and the Bat)

When Joker began using Bane's Venom fuel injector, he managed to overpower the Dark Knight with his enhanced strength. This led to Batman calling Alfred to deploy the Batbot that was left through a secret passage into a nearby alley. However, Joker managed to knock out Batman thus preventing him from using the suit. However, Batgirl who was present in the scene saw the Batbot and entered into the exoskeleton. With it, she attempted to battle Joker but was overpowered by him as well. Despite her defeat, Joker left her at the scene whilst he took Batman in order to kill him at the circus. Barbara Gordon in the mean time managed to better control the suit and used her gymnastic training to better maneuver. She later arrived at the circus to help Batman though still struggled in actually defeating the Joker. It was at the scene that Barbara Gordon determined that Batman was attempting to target Joker's fuel injector to defeat him. Thus, she charged the Joker in the Batbot and ejected from it at the last second when the Clown Prince of Crime trapped in fist within the giant suit. With his arm trapped, Batgirl managed to use her smaller form to go around the Joker's giant body and detach the Venom injector thus restoring her foe back to normal size. (Episode: Brawn)

Lucius Fox now working with Batman had constructed numerous Batbots for him with various prototype models. One of these were used by Batman to fight the mind controlled Superman that was following Lex Luthor's commands. Despite putting up resistance, this Batbot was destroyed by Superman. (Episode: The Superman/Batman Story)

Batman had Alfred call the Batbot when a digital copy of the Joker known as 2.0 had taken over WayneTech nanotechnology and created a giant version of himself in Gotham City. Joker 2.0 ended up throwing Batman, Robin and Joker into the air with the goal of killing them but the remotely activated Batbot arrived with the Dark Knight piloting it to save the other two. Afterwards, he battled Joker 2.0 in it but was unable to create any lasting harm to the giant nanotech giant who simply regenerated any wounds made to him and instead damaged the mechanized suit on a number of occasions. The giant Joker 2.0 managed to grab onto the Batbot and started to flood the inside with his nanotechnology components until Robin downloaded the virtual villain into computer game and defeated him. (Episode: The Metal Face Of Comedy)

Overview

It was created from the latest in engineering technology constructed by Wayne Industries and was linked to the Bat-Wave. Within the cockpit, the user had a screen that allowed a visual feed to outside the suit and included displays on its various systems. (Episode: Traction) Batgirl referred to the bot as being a muscle suit. Among its features included retro-thrusters that allowed aided mobility for its user and the hands had sharp claws capable of slicing through cables. (Episode: Brawn) Its palms were able to fire powerful energy blasts at targets. (Episode: The Metal Face Of Comedy) These thrusters allowed the user to slow the descent of a fall and mitigate any damage from a large scale drop. (Episode: Traction)

Similar to his other equipment, the exoskeleton was linked to the Bat-Wave. (Episode: Brawn) It was capable of being remotely controlled through the system and allowed a user to operate the suit through the utility belt. (Episode: The Cat and the Bat)

One variant had two cylinders that rotated up and fired numerous explosive batarangs at targets. (Episode: The Superman/Batman Story)
