Many-Angled Ones (Marvel)

The Many-Angled Ones are a race of deities that feature in Marvel Comics.

History

They were the first beings to truly become old. Some claimed that the Many-Angled Ones were memory-echoes of the nightmares that plagued the first daemons. Ancient pestinential ghoul worlds in dying realities were still devoted in their worship. (Thanos Imperative v1 #2)

In time, the Many-Angled Ones filled their universe but despite this being the case they were still hungry. (Realm of Kings v1 #1) This abominable Cancerverse was similar to the regular universe but one that grew twisted and deformed by malignant growth as a result of life wining and death lost. (Guardians of the Galaxy v2 #21) Among the only beings that managed to resist the touch of the Many-Angled Ones were machine-sentient's that formed the Machine Resistance that was hidden on Titan. (Thanos Imperative v1 #2)

A group of meat-ships from the Cancerverse emerged from the Fault where they dislodged the Ex-Men to battle the Shi'ar Imperial Guard. Commanding these forces was the brain-ship that was a corrupted version of Professor X who used his telepathic powers against the Guard until they killed him. (Realm of Kings: Imperial Guard v1 #5)

Adam Magus detonated numerous Church worlds that he brought to the Fault in order to widen the dimensional tear. This led to Lord Mar-Vell and his Revengers appearing in order to conduct the next stage of the invasion at the behest of his masters. (Thanos Imperative: Ignition v1 #1)

At the Fault, the Cancerverse dispatched the Galactus Engine as their weapon against their enemies. (Thanos Imperative v1 #2)

Overview

These beings were primordial cosmic entities that inhabited the space between universes. (Thanos Imperative v1 #2)

They were noted to be ancient creatures with a dark intelligence and were too terrifying to contemplate. The Many-Angled Ones afforded gifts to their servants in exchange for their adoration. (Realm of Kings v1 #1) Inhabitants of the Cancerverse believed they had extraordinary things to offer and had a new way of living with a new way of understanding the cosmos. They believed that there was no end to the new experiences to embrace. As they sought to expand to other realms, they had the means of overthrowing the fundamental laws of all possible universes. The Cancerverse had the capacity to rewrite and remake the basic language of reality. (Thanos Imperative v1 #2)

Their universe was stated to be unnatural and reeked of corruption. It pulsed with corrupted life as it was a single giant organic mass that was effectively a whole universe that was a deathless corpse. On the Earth in the Cancerverse, the Trapezohedron served as a prison facility used to detain subjects of interest. (Realm of Kings v1 #1)

One of the weapons was a weaponized analogue of the Devourer of Worlds that they deployed as the Galactus Engine. (Thanos Imperative v1 #2)

• The Many-Angled Ones were created by Dan Abnett, Andy Lanning, Leonardo Manco, and Mahmud Asrar where they made their first appearance in Realm of Kings v1 #1 (January, 2010).
