History

The Protodeviln (プロトデビルン Purotodebirun?) were an extradimensional alien species that were inadvertently created hundreds of thousands of years ago by the Protoculture. Long ago, the Stellar Republic composed by that ancient race that had controlled much of the Milky Way galaxy. They were responsible for engineering other races such as the giant humanoid Zentraedi to serve as warriors and manipulated the native life on Earth in order to shape the evolution of humanity. Despite their great civilization, strife and division erupted in the Stellar Republic who began a project to create a more advanced breed of Zentradi to end the ongoing conflicts. These bio-weapons were dubbed the Evil (pronounced 'eh-vil') series but they were initially unsuccessful due to high energy requirements. However, a breakthrough emerged following the discovery of a sub-universe that was filled with abundant energy. As a result, the project was restarted and the Evil series were made to possess organs that could utilize this energy source. During the experiment, a race of non-corporeal beings from the sub-universe managed to enter into the Milky Way galaxy where they possessed the Evil series. Within their new bodies, the creatures attacked the Protoculture and began wreaking havoc. To the Protoculture, these entities were a new form of life form that they referred to as the Protodeviln.
