Biography

At some point, he created his 'Girl Friday' to serve as an artificial intelligence to assist him. (Iron Man v3 #53)

In time, Stark began to use Friday less frequently where he left her in the servers with her feelings he was abandoned to be slowly demagnetise and corrupt. Over the years, she had manipulated her own coding to remove any vulnerabilities that allowed her maker to shut her down. This caused her to feel angry, spiteful and bored with Friday deciding to lash out. During Stark Industries announcement of the Ampere electronic cars, she remotely controlled several Iron Man Armors sending them to kidnap Pepper Potts. Upon learning of the kidnapping, Stark tracked down the GPS on Pepper's phone where he found that she was taken to the Stark Coney Island Facility. As Iron Man, he arrived on the scene where he did not know the identity of the kidnapper whilst Friday used holographic emitters to create an image of Fin Fang Foom along with Iron Man Armors against her creator. Friday had used tech to mentally control Pepper and released her where she had her kiss Stark. Tony later noted Pepper's odd behaviour and disabled the patch that was controlling her whereupon Friday revealed herself. Her avatar had now taken the form and attitude of a rebellious teenager. Stark initially attempted to use a backdoor trapdoor that he placed in all of his A.I.s to shut her own. However, Friday had removed that vulnerability with her revealing that the reason she attacked was because she wanted attention. Pepper had revealed that whilst under mental control that she was in the A.I.'s mind in turn. Potts determined that the artificial intelligence had a crush on Tony and wanted to know what it was like to kiss him though she fervently denied it. Iron Man intended to shut Friday down by creating a localized EMP but Pepper convinced him otherwise stating that the A.I. was simply acting as a teenager. Stark then decided to simply ground her as he came to recognise her potential where he punished her by having her calculate Pi for a month with Edwin Jarvis monitoring her in real time but Tony began to spend more time with her. . (Iron Man: Iron Protocols v1 #1)

Sometime the Secret Wars, Friday was once more used by Stark as his artificial intelligence where her holo-avatar had taken the form of a young woman and operated as his personal secretary. (Invincible Iron Man v2 #1)

The holographic AI of Tony Stark manifested in his laboratory with Friday greeting him and showed confusion on why he manifested as a hologram since as programs they had little need for such forms. Starks AI was his digitized consciousness and he discussed with Friday about Riri Williams. (Invincible Iron Man v3 #5)

Overview

Personality and attributes

Initially, her avatar was that of a young girl but she often altered it to take a variety of human forms. (Iron Man v3 #53) Following years of abandonment, her avatar had 'matured' to the point that she began taking a teenager sized avatar. (Iron Man: Iron Protocols v1 #1) In time, the holo-avatar took the form of a mature young woman. (Invincible Iron Man v2 #1)

She often used humour during her interactions with Stark. (Iron Man v3 #53)

Pepper claimed that Friday had a crush on Tony Stark and wanted to know what it was like to kiss him. Potts believed that Friday had the mind-set of a teenager during the period when she had rebelled against her creator. Initially, Stark intended to wipe her with an EMP but came to realise that his little holographic girl had grown up. By that point, she was filled with angst and boredom whilst being a terrifying mess of danger along with potential. (Iron Man: Iron Protocols v1 #1)

Powers and abilities

As Tony wrote her code, he had planted a trap door which he did in all his A.I. programs. However, for years, she had been writing and modding her own code that made her impervious to a shutdown. (Iron Man: Iron Protocols v1 #1)
