Origin

Jean Grey School

As Logan decided to reopen the mansion, he named it the Jean Grey School of Higher Learning with Hank McCoy responsible for designing and building it. (Wolverine and the X-Men v1 #1)

Xavier Outreach

After it was destroyed, a protest formed outside the destroyed remains where those with anti-Mutant sentiment celebrated the destruction and hailed the possibility of legislation that allowed for the use of a vaccine that eliminated the X-Gene. (Uncanny X-Men v5 #8)

  • The X-Mansion was created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby where it made its first appearance in X-Men v1 #1 (September, 1963).

Television

  • In X-Men: Pryde of the X-Men, the X-Mansion appeared in the setting of the animated television pilot. It was the home of Professor X and his X-Men with Kitty Pryde coming there after she discovered she was a Mutant. When the X-Men were away on a mission, the mansion came under attack from Magneto and Juggernaut with the pair overwhelming the defensive systems that was partially scrambled accidently by Pryde's phasing ability. Magneto then took Cerebro's Mutant Power Circuit from Xavier for use in his own plans in devastating the world and allowing him to claim dominion over it.
