Horde Prime is a character who features in the He-Man universe.

Biography

Anillis Kur was a powerful being who was the ruler of an intergalactic empire known as the Evil Horde. In his youth, he was named the Horde Supreme and was an evil cosmic conqueror who was the mighty son of the Horde Lord. Convinced of his own superiority, he was known to had assassinated his own father and took his command rod as a sign of his rule of the empire. Afterwards, he came to learn of the elusive Timeless Dimension and the Aura of the Gods that was stored in the world of Trolla. Horde Prime was unable to breach the dimensional barrier to that realm and his efforts were further stymied by the Cosmic Enforcers. The evil Horde Prime then conducted a systematic campaign of extermination of the Cosmic Enforcers and gained his greatest triumph by infecting He-Ro with a mind-wiping techno-organic virus where he banished his foe to the far off world of Eternia. In time, Horde Prime's ambitious scheming younger brother came to be a threat to his plans and he dispatched him on a foolish conquest to ensure He-Ro's defeat. They eventually learnt that the Star Seed was hidden on that world with Horde Prime conducted his own vile experiments in an effort to attain power.

It was said that the dark energies of the demonic Hordeous had impacted the bloodline of the rulers of Horde World making them immortal and powerful but slowly mutated them into soulless bat-like monsters.

As Horde Prime, he came to wield the Rod of Hordeous that was a mark of the ruler of the Horde.

He was noted for being an evil dictator of a galaxy-spanning empire who ruled from his throne on Horde World.

Notes

  • Writer Emiliano Santalucia was queried about the identity of the person encased within the crystal in the comics for 200x Masters of the Universe. He revealed that the person inside was the Unnamed One where before he was imprisoned that half of his essence was contained within the crystal whilst the other inhabited a mechanical body that became Horde Prime.

  • In She-Ra: Princess of Power, Horde Prime appeared in the setting of the 1980s animated television series where he was voiced by actor Lou Scheimer. He was a titanic mechanical being shrouded in smoke said to hold two heads where he commanded the Intergalactic Horde. Horde Prime was show to rule from Horde World where his travelled the universe on his flagship called the Velvet Glove with him having a son named Prince Zed who called Hordak his uncle. The Horde ruler made regularly communiques with Hordak over the conquest of Etheria that had fallen to their rule but had not been fully conquered as a Great Rebellion had formed to oppose them.
  • In She-Ra and the Princesses of Power, Horde Prime appeared as an antagonist in the 2018 animated television where he was voiced by actor Keston John. He was shown as an intergalactic warlord that commanded a vast interstellar empire which controlled space. To aid him, Horde Prime created a number of clones of himself with one becoming Hordak and was a trusted general. However, Hordak was a flawed clone and thus Horde Prime dispatched him on the frontier where he eventually disappeared. In time, Horde Prime came to discover the signal for Hordak but could not find the source due to it being a planet hidden in another dimension. When Etheria was brought back into the universe, Horde Prime's fleet arrived at the world where he transported Hordak to his flagship and delved into his mind. Horde Prime was angered at Hordak attempting to rise above his station and thus ordered him taken away for reconditioning whilst he considered conquering Etheria after learning that it was a storehouse of mystical energy that could be used as a weapon.

  • A toy of Horde Prime was released that had a biography on the character where his real name was said to be Anillis Kur. He was referred to as an evil dictator that ruled a galaxy spanning empire where he ruled from his throne on Horde World. The tyrannical Anillis was said to had systematically wiped out the Cosmic Enforcers and even infected his arch-enemy He-Ro with a mindwiping techno-organic virus whereupon he banished him to the magical world of Eternia. Hordak was noted for being Horde Prime's scheming brother and to quell his ambition he dispatched him to Eternia to ensure He-Ro was defeated.
