Biography
Pearl Pangan
Wave and Aero looked to defend the Sirenas from Alontech who dispatched their hybrids against the resistance force. During this time, the leader of Alontech arrived who as the Reyna Sirenas where it was discovered that the founder of the company was the Queen of the Mermaids. She managed to capture Sea Hunter and forced the two heroes to stand down leading to their capture. It was then discovered that the Sirenas were often attacked by the Atlanteans and in desperation the mermaid queen created Alontech with the goal of finding a means of improving themselves. In that time, Sea Hunter was found and the mermaid queen's lover Carina fell in love with the human. This caused a fracture among the Sirenas with Alontech hunting down the renegades. It was also discovered that Pearl was a product of experiments by Alontech in giving the Sirenas a great power with the mermaid queen looking to recover it from the unconscious Pangan. (Aero v1 #3)

Notes
- Wave was created by Greg Pak and Leinil Yu where she made her first appearance in War of the Realms: New Agents of Atlas v1 #1 (July, 2019).
- In an interview on Spin.ph, Pak commented, "We're keeping some things secret for now so we can reveal them in the books, but Wave's civilian name is Pearl Pangan, and she's a Filipina from Cebu. She has water-based powers and a special costume designed by Leinil with retractable fins and other features to be revealed. Leinil also had the inspiration to give her those awesome swords reminiscent of Filipino kampilan. I think there's some speculation out there that since she's got these water-based powers, she might be part Atlantean. But I like the idea that she grew up as a regular girl without any kind of special, royal, or magic bloodline that gives her powers. Later down the line, we'll reveal more about her abilities and how she got them, but for now I'll say she grew up by the sea and has always felt as comfortable in the water as on land."
