History
The Black Bulls (Japanese: 黒の暴牛, Hepburn: Kuro no Bōgyū) were one of nine squads of Magic Knights maintained by the Clover Kingdom.
At some point, they came to be headed by Yami Sukehiro following his rise to the rank of Captain in the Magic Knights.
During the Magic Knight Selection exam, Yami came to attend the event in order to choose potential recruits for the squad. He came to find one such candidate in a young man named Asta who lacked any magic potential. Alongside him, he also came to accept Noelle Silva who was a young noblewoman of House Silva that lacked the ability to control her magic. The nature of both candidates meant that none of the other Magic Knights squads wanted the pair. Taking the two with him, they went to the Black Bulls headquarters in order to introduce them to the rest of the squad as well as take part in the initiation ceremony. In Asta's case, he had to earn his robe and went through series of tests along with a duel arranged with Magna Swing. In the fight, Asta used his sword to deflect Magna's fireball back at him with this being a sign of his training being completed. It was then that Asta was welcomed into the ranks of the Black Bulls where he received his robe along with the Black Bull symbol. Afterwards, an incident emerged when Noelle Silva refused to work alongside commoners and an incident with Asta resulted in her losing a fight. In response, she decided to quit but accidentally ended up trapping herself in a giant water bubble that she had summoned. Only Asta was able to break the bubble and she came to see that despite her flaws that the Black Bulls accepted her leading to her rejoining the squad.
Overview
In appearance, the Black Bulls were a squad of 9 members that served as Magic Knights. Typically, their signature clothing was a black mantle robe with gold trimming and hood. It had a gold-colored button located at the right-hand side to hold it together whilst the left-hand side displayed the squad's insignia.
As Magic Knights, they followed the orders of the Magic Emperor and acted according to their commands. They performed missions all around the Clover Kingdom whether they were official or unofficial. Meanwhile, direct command of the squad was held by the captain who delegated missions, relayed messages received from the Magic Emperor, and distributed the members' salaries.
Their destructive behavior led to them developing an infamous reputation among the Magic Knights with them being regarded as the worst squad of the organization.
An initiation ceremony was held when new members joined the ranks of the Black Bulls. This ceremony had been regarded by many of the members as unofficial but existed to measure the quality of its new recruits. At the end of the ceremony, a senior member typically bestowed the squad's official robes on the new member as proof of membership
The headquarters of the Black Bulls was a large, tall house with asymmetric structures. The house consisted of multiple stories with most of them made of stone and brick. It had a large number of windows and chimneys and a single wooden gate for a front entrance.

As a Magic Knight, he came to rise to the position of Captain where he came to head the Black Bulls where he personally chose many of its members.
