Modern
By the modern age, a new incarnation of the team was brought together called Axis America that was formed by a power broker named Manson and his organization, the Clockwatchers. This Axis were sent on an assignment where they were disguised behind a commune called Safe Haven which was run by a married couple named Shepherd and Vela. Manson decided to activate the Axis in response to the defection of one of his prized operative: Faith, who had left his service and joined the Justice League. Thus, Safe Haven was used as the catalyst to draw the Justice League in for destruction and to coerce Faith into returning to Manson. Manson used Axis America to rig a false explosion and gave the illusion that Safe Haven had been recklessly destroyed by the Justice League. It was then that Manson used a 'mnemonic conjurer' called the Mouth to make the Justice League members believe in their guilt. Meanwhile, the remaining League member engaged in combat with Axis, who were led by Shepherd who now adopted his true identity as Übermensch II. Meanwhile, Book's wife took the name Hel, and they were joined by their compatriots namely Great White, Zaladin and Fleshburn. (JLA v1 #82)

- Axis Amerika was created by Roy Thomas and Dann Thomas where they made their first appearance in Young All-Stars v1 #1 (June, 1987).
- The modern version known as Axis America was created by Joe Kelly and Duncan Rouleau where they appeared in JLA v1 #81 (July, 2003).
Alternate Versions
- In The Multiversity Guidebook v1 #1 (2015), within the reborn Multiverse a new version of the Nazi controlled Earth-X was shown with its premiere superpowered team being the New Reichsmen.
