Biography

Origin

Eduardo Flamingo was a male human born in the modern age on Earth. (Batman and Robin v1 #1)

It was said that he was once a good man who fought the Mob until they captured him after which they cut his brain and took apart everything that made him human. They then made him kill his wife, children and everyone his love leading to him becoming known as the Flamingo. (Batman and Robin v1 #5) In time, he came to operate as the top enforcer for the Penitente Cartel and dispatched to eliminate threats. El Penitente's operations in Gotham City came to be disrupted by the actions of the Red Hood leading to them calling in the Flamingo to deal with the threat. (Batman and Robin v1 #4) Upon arriving, he attended a party that had adult escorts where he skinned the faces of people and ate them after which he began his search for the Red Hood. He found his quarry when the Red Hood and his sidekick Scarlet were in a fight with Batman and Robin where he shot his target's helmet. (Batman and Robin v1 #5) During this time, the Red Hood Jason Todd rallied a defense against Flamingo, but sustained bullet wounds to the face and knee-cap. Flamingo then turned his attentions to Red Hood's partner Scarlet. Flamingo then tugged at the seams of Scarlet's mask before she gashed him with one of her blades. Feeling responsible for the girl and her condition, Robin jumped into the fray to help, but received four bullets to his cape-protected spine, paralyzing him from the waist down. Dick Grayson who was operating as Batman then delivered a boot to Flamingo's face. When Dick was nearly tossed over the side of the building, Jason used a construction digger to scoop Flamingo up and deposit him over the edge, sending him plummeting to the Earth below. Commissioner James Gordon later told Batman that Flamingo's body was never found. (Batman and Robin v1 #6)
