Silverbolt was the leader of the Aerialbots, who constantly struggled against a fear of heights while in action. Unlike the other Aerialbots, he transformed not into a fighter jet, but rather a supersonic passenger jet. He combines with the other Aerialbots to form Superion.

Silverbolt's fear of heights derived from the vehicle he was built from- a low-level cargo transport, as opposed to the high-flying aircraft his fellows were made from.
