Biography
Ahk-Ton was a male human who lived long ago in the lands of Egypt. (Metamorpho v2 #1) At some point, he was noted to had entered the priesthood where he became privy to a great many secrets. It was during these years that he was presented with a young boy to be his student and acolyte. In those days, was said to had heard of a meteor crashing onto the lands where he sent to investigate it. (Batman and the Outsiders v1 #17) It was said that he had fashioned the Orb of Ra from the meteor that fell to Earth with him placing it in a sceptre that he presented to the Pharaoh. (The Brave and the Bold v1 #57) Another account held that 4,000 years ago Ahk-Ton was actually the Pharaoh who was presented the Orb by his alchemist under the belief that the ruler would share it with the kingdom. Upon exposure to its power, Ahk-Ton was transformed into what was believed to be the first of the Metamorphae where he came to rule the lands with an iron fist. This was until his transformation was reversed and he was seemingly killed with him being buried with the sceptre. (Metamorpho v2 #1)
Three thousand years ago, the rebellious priest had used his base of influence to expand his powers to the point that he could challenge the divine rule of the Pharaoh Ramses who ruled the Second Dynasty. At this point in 1100 B.C., Ahk-Ton sought an advantage and used magic to summon a Metamorphae from the future. This brought Metamorpho through the currents of time alongside his comrades in the Outsiders who were transported by accident in the process. The priest managed to use his powers to take control of Metamorpho who was forced to turn against his friends as he became Ahk-Ton's servant and the instrument through which he intended to take the throne. (Batman and the Outsiders v1 #17) Once Metamorpho was freed, Ahk-ton was defeated and taken by Ramses, who intended to slay Ahk-Ton. (Batman and the Outsiders v1 #18)
Ahk-Ton was reawakened by Vandal Savage after the immortal acquired the Orb of Ra and used its powers to assemble an army to conquer all of Egypt during the 15th Dynasty. During this time, Ahk-Ton participated in the razing of Kahndaq and killing the family of Teth-Adam. He then accompanied Savage to the site of the Time Cube appearing leading to their encounter with the future superheroes Mr. Terrific, Hawkgirl and Captain Marvel. At first, the heroes were nearly overwhelmed by Captain Marvel gave them an opportunity to escape. Ahk-Ton then joined the armies formed to assault the last stronghold of Prince Khufu and his allies. (JSA v1 #43) To stop Savage, Captain Marvel and Teth-Adam called forth the sleeping god Ra to reclaim his stolen power. The Egyptian deity stripped the power from the villains with Savage turned into a new born child whilst Ahk-Ton was turned back into a mortal. A vengeful Teth-Adam then decided to take his revenge against Ahk-Ton for the death of his family where he snapped the Egyptian's neck thus murdering him. (JSA v1 #44)

Personality and attributes
He came to be referred to as the Metamorph after his transformation into one of the Metamorphae. (JSA v1 #42)
As Pharaoh, he was noted to had ruled with an iron fist that only grew worse after he gained superpowers. Such was his tyranny that his alchemist ended up turning against him and removing his abilities. (Metamorpho v2 #1)
He was responsible for training a young boy to be one of his acolytes in the priesthood with this being Abdu. (Batman and the Outsiders v1 #17)
Powers and abilities
Originally, Ahk-Ton was an ordinary man who came to learn the secrets of the priesthood of Egypt. (Batman and the Outsiders v1 #17) According to another account, he actually came to be Pharaoh around 4,000 years ago. (Metamorpho v2 #1)
Exposure to the Orb of Ra's rays transformed Ahk-Ton allowing him to transform into an elemental being and thus became the world's first Metamorpho. (Metamorpho v2 #1) As a living periodic table, he could transform his essence into any substance such as making himself into a cloud of acid. (JSA v1 #43)
Long ago, he was gifted a sceptre made from a meteor that was crafted by his alchemist. This became the Orb of Ra that was responsible for turning him into a Metamorpho. (Metamorpho v2 #1) According to another account though, Ahk-Ton found the piece of the meteor that crashed onto the Earth where he attached it to a sceptre and present it to the Pharaoh. Regardless, the Orb of Ra was said to possess fantastic powers to its user. The meteor piece was encased within a quartz crystal ball attached to an old pharaoh's sceptre. (Brave and the Bold v1 #57)
In Ancient Egypt, a pyramid was constructed in the name of Ahk-Ton that was located in the valley of the Upper Nile. By the modern age, it was regarded as the Lost Pyramid of Ahk-Ton where it was situated in a hidden valley and constructed of rose stone. Located deep within the structure came to be the Orb of Ra that was stored securely within a vault. The pyramid was noted to radiate intense heat that served as a deterrent for intruders from attempting to enter it. The heat generated by the structure caused intense updrafts that made it difficult for flying craft to land in the area. Within the structure, there were frieze of Egyptian carvings said to depict Ahk-Ton and detailed the story of the meteor that had crashed onto the Earth where it was fashioned into the Orb of Ra. A piece of the meteor was present within the Orb of Orb whilst the entire meteor itself was located in a deeper chamber at the heart of the pyramid. This was said to be responsible for generating the intense heat created by the structure. (Brave and the Bold v1 #57)

- The Brave and the Bold v1 #57 (1965) referred to Ahk-Ton as a priest though Metamorpho v2 #1 (1993) called him the Pharaoh.

Television
- In Justice League Unlimited, Ahk-Ton was referenced in the setting of the animated television series set in the DC Animated Universe in the episode "Ancient History". He was said to had terrorised the lands of Kahndaq leading to Pharaoh Katar Hol sending his General Bashari to free the land from his rule. Bashari succeeded in his mission thus placing Kahndaq under the benevolent protection of Pharaoh Hol.
Films
- In Black Adam, Ahk-Ton appeared in flashbacks in the setting of the live-action film where he was portrayed by actor Marwan Kenzari. This version was an ancient Pharaoh known as King Ahk-Ton who ruled the lands of Kahndaq long ago as a tyrant. In that time, he enslaved the people to mine for a magical mineral called Eternium. He forced the slaves to gather the ore in order to fashion it into the Crown of Sabbac which he intended to use to gain superhuman power from demon lords. Ultimately, he came to be killed by Black Adam after he gained his power from the wizard Shazam whereupon he claimed the throne for himself until his eventual imprisonment. One of his descendants in the modern age was a man named Ishmael Gregor who looked to fulfil his ancestors goal in getting the Crown of Sabbac and claim demonic power for himself.
Video games
- In DC Legends, Ahk-Ton was referenced in the backstory for Black Adam in the setting of the mobile video game. It was said that the mad priest was responsible for killing Black Adam's family and in retribution he killed the man.
