Albrecht Ketzer was a Human scientist that featured in Exo-Squad.

History

Albrecht Ketzer was noted as brilliant Terran scientist and a pioneer in the field of genetics. Sometime before the outbreak of the Neosapien War, Ketzer had entered into the Amazon Rainforest where he opened up a clinic to study numerous forms of gene therapy and befriended the native Human tribes. His task was to help the indigenous tribes. When the Neosapiens took control of the solar system, Ketzer was cut off from the rest of civilization though he became aware of what the Neosapiens had done.

He began a series of genetic experiments that was similar to gene splicing that involved the addition of plant and animal DNA that was attached into a retrovirus after which it was injected into the body. Once the virus penetrated the cells and after the cells had renewed themselves, the body would grow in a new fashion. This resulted in visible changes among the Human followers of Ketzer and the doctor subjected himself to the therapy creating a new species of Humanity.

Draconus made numerous attempts at capturing Ketzer but failed. This resulted in a war between the two sides with Ketzer attempting to destroy the Neosapien and Terran city of Manaus in Brazil. This was because the natives of the forest had long harbored a desire to drive out the invaders whose civilization had tainted the tranquility of the forest. Using the genetic engineering techniques, Ketzer improved the native Humans of the forest making them strong enough to challenge any invader. However, Manaus was heavily defended by the Neosapiens which meant Ketzer was unable to destroy it by himself and was only capable of hiding within the forests from the Neosapien patrols

J. T. Marsh, Marsala and Lt. Nara Burns were dispatched on a covert mission from the Exofleet to recover Ketzer in order to use his research to help combat the threat posed by the Neo Lords. It was then that they discovered what Ketzer had done. Ketzer's followers would capture Lt. Nara Burns after she suffered an attack from a Neosapien patrol. In order to gain Marsh and Marsala's help, Ketzer blackmailed them by injecting a retrovirus into Nara which would turn her into a creature like himself. His condition was that Marsh and Marsala help him destroy Manaus to which they reluctantly agreed after which the Neosapiens attacked. Ketzer was captured by Marsala but eventually escaped into the jungle leaving Nara to suffer from the slow genetic changes being wrought within her. She was considered a part of one of his many experiments.

After the end of the Neosapien War, Ketzer continued his private war and managed to capture several Neosapiens who he performed his genetic experiments resulting in one being frozen in place; completely green skinned with a look of horror upon his features. The other experiment was Medusa who now served him and she attacked Drax during Ketzer's attempt at recapturing Lt. Nara Burns. However, this failed and he once again retreated into the forest.

Background

Albrecht Ketzer appeared as a white skinned Human male with long brown hair. His original features became distorted after he performed a number of genetic experiments on himself. He was larger, more muscular and more Human looking then his followers. His left hand was green in color with several patches of green skinned around his body.

According to Ketzer, life was noted as a river that encompassed all Human beings and gradually changed them. His beliefs meant that he worked to advancing the Human race according to his designs and believed that the Neosapiens as well as Humanity being failed experiments in evolution. During the Neosapien War, he believed that Humans were incapable of defeating Neosapiens through ordinary means and that they had to sacrifice their Humanity, becoming something greater in order to retake the solar system.

Furthermore, he believed himself to be the law and did not believe his experiments were against nature. In addition to this, he felt that mankind had no place within the forests and that his experiments on the indigenous tribes meant that they were now one with nature itself. He considered himself a part of the rainforest and stated that he would never leave it alive.
